Will be fine in the meantime, always use RCA. Don't...

    Components views wanted.

They're ok for cheaper ones, the kappas are much better if you can stretch to them (i've had both). It also worth amping them if you can too.

    amp gone iside my headunit

If its the standard headunit just get another one, it wouldn't cost a lot more than repairing it (might be less).

    Where can i buy these?

You'll have to wait until someone is selling some from a 172 then (unless adams are?). Otherwise renault who will relieve you of about £1k.

    Tuning continues.....

Seems very strange indeed, something isn't right somewhere. I'd have gone along with cam timing being off but if ben's done it i'd be pretty confident in the work so does seem strange. Its still worth checking the timing along with a compression test though I think.

    HT Leads

That banding type thing is just to keep them together, it won't protect against heat in any way.

where to buy 'ball joints' for a Clio 182

My local factors can get QH lower balljoints seperate for the non-RS/RS models, they're about £10 a pop. Changed 2 on my old 1.6 and they seemed fine quality and fit wise. Much better than the £60odd (iirc) renault wanted for a full lower arm.

Where is the oil level sensor and oil pressure switch on a 172ff ?

Yes basically, i'd want it in. Got any pics? Wouldn't mind a look how you've mounted the gauges and the senders etc.

    Dash tweeter removal

Yeh as said just take the dash off. You'll never change them with it on imo.

Knock sensor ? What is it ?

It detects the specific vibrations given off by preignition ie detonation, pinking, knock etc. Basically the fuel self combusting before its wanted to, the ecu monitors the sensor and adjusts various things (not sure 100% what) to stop it.

Where is the oil level sensor and oil pressure switch on a 172ff ?

Yep thats is pretty much, the retardation of the timing is all done by the ecu though obviously.

    Bent rear axle beam

If you've smacked the rear then something is most probably bent. Take fred up on his offer, then you can be certain.

Rear camshaft locking tool and TDC pin

The tools are about £60-70 for the locking tools and the aux tensioner tool. The full cambelt kit and auxbelt kit plus the two core plugs for the end of the head and an upper/lower inlet manifold came to £282 for me (and that was trade!). Be circa £300 I think.

    Fuse Blowing Hell!

Why is there a problem with the lambda wiring? Its possibly powering the lambda heater circuit yes.

    Fuse Blowing Hell!

Right thats fine, the terminal that read 1 is reading overrange for the meter which means that ones fine. The one thats dancing about is where your earth fault is and i'm guessing it a cheap meter that'll be why its jumping around as its pushing the limits of it. Without a set of decent wiring...
