You can normally hire on the day I think. Also, starting on a day like this is good as you don't have to worry about Radicals, or GT3 RSs coming around to pass you on every third lap.

I run lower, 26-28. They have stiffer sidewalls to compensate I believe. I've never had uneven wear.

Yep. They work well. Shoulders wear badly if pressures are down or you're ham-fisted with the steering though.

No problem at all. Drop them straight on. Technically, they make a difference. I personally couldn't tell any real difference in handling characteristics and feel...they just give you more grip/traction.
