Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Up early for Croft. Car loaded up with everything but the kitchen sink. Met up with the lads from work. Damp start but it soon dried up. I can’t really say much more about the RB other than it handled like a boat. But that’s good because 1) I know why and 2) it’s all about the experience...

    New Clio 182 Track Project

So the current plan with this car will be as follows: 1. Whip the BC DS suspension off it and replace with my AST 5100s with improved spring rates of 80/80 nm (500/500 lbs). Maybe even make the rear slightly stiffer. 2. Run a bridge craft roll centre correct kit 3. Improve cooling as the...

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Early start today collecting the new car, so I’ll be able to retire the RB from Trackday duties before it’s even started. I’ve a fair bit to say about this purchase but I’ll keep my powder dry for later. I’ve started a thread over at...

Well I did a thing today and got my next track car project. Firstly a big thank you to @Tonyclio for delivering it to my lockup and for being the perfect gent. A credit to you sir for building an amazing car. I know you’re going to miss it, but it’s in the right hands. 😊 It’ll probably be a...

    New day….new leak

This is the complete system under the bonnet. Mine is leaking from the seal on top of the dryer and a little bit from the pressure sensor. Then running down the pipe and dripping from exactly the same place as yours. It's going into a specialist in October.
  18. Mr Underhill

    New day….new leak

Yes. Mine's doing exactly the same. I suspect the seals are gone. I assume yours isn't blowing icy cold air?

    Virgin existing customer deals?

Ah, I see. Those Eero mesh routers are amazing, so if I moved from Virgin, I'd definitely use them. Although I understand some companies provide them, so wait and see what you get.

    Virgin existing customer deals?

Bin the high speed off, get the M125 and buy a couple of Wifi-6 routers like Eero 6+. I stream everywhere in the house, with multiple TVs on at once, and music in other rooms. Never an issue. It's their shitty hardware that's the problem.

    JC5 assessment....

Welcome. I’ve had 3 x 182s over a six year period. One a track car. Never had a broken gearbox. On saying that, I’ve never made it a habit of trying launch control in Tesco’s car park. I guess if a gearbox is out of a car and you don’t know its history, stripping it down is the best way to...

    Steering rack to subframe bolts

From memory they were different lengths so rather than me c**k it up, here’s the diagram with part numbers to help you. I remember having to retap a thread in one of the brackets as it was cross threaded and that bolt was M8 x 75 mm x 1.25. But as I said, they’re slightly different lengths.

    Cleaning Engine - bone removal.

TBF i had my engine out on the above picture. I used a degreaser to wash all the oil off, then painted the block with Black VHT paint, touched the rocker cover up with VHT Silver paint (using artist brushes) and had everything else aqua blasted. On the plastics I just used a degreaser, then back...
