If/when my Cup gets striped to the bare metal for race preparation/overhaul, taking a few days out and getting it sprayed white is top of the list.
Looks ^^^ mint!
Looks nice and quick :)
Don't forget that by the time the needle starts moving you're already doing close to 10mph as that's where the speedo starts. You need to add about 0.5s or start your timing from when you hear the clutch first come up.
That's why a lot of people think my Cup can crack...
Aren't they clamping down as with tints (even very light ones) speed and general traffic cameras can't pick out the driver?
So it's not primarily that it's unsafe to have them (although with only 17% light getting through that's totally 110% unsafe), more that traffic enforcement cameras can't...
OK, that makes sense...I'd be more than happy adjusting for different circuit conditions and chassis balance.
I'm assuming the Leda's aren't a nightmare to adjust? I remember the old days on bikes with skinned knuckles from C-spanner efforts gone wrong. It's not like that anymore I hope?
OK, interesting so far.
What about adjustability? Is it really necessary?
Surely the set-up I need on track to work the best from the sticky rubber has to be so hard it would be unusable on the road normally, hence the adjustment needed?
How many people run adjustable units, and actually...
If you watch the clip, and really listen to my throttle inputs, there were numerous times when I could have picked the throttle up earlier, but didn't through fear of getting to close to a car worth half the value of my house. There were certain turns where my exit speed was compromised beacuse...
I'd want something that is perfectly usable day-to-day (300 miles per week commuting), but that has enough adjustment to get it really focussed and firm on track so I can make the most of the track tyres. Maybe then I'd have gotten past that pesky F430 :rasp:
What options do I have?
What do...
What's impressive, if I might be so bold as to suggest, is that for almost one complete lap around Bedford's South West circuit, I remained glued to his ass.
So off he sped on the straights.
I'd have thought for my extra £120,000 outlay I'd get something a little quicker overall wouldn't...
I've had new dampers all round in the last 10k since the rears sprung a leak, and the fronts felt like they were past their best. It's still nice and tight/controlled even after all these miles.
The F430 owener was, how shall I say, umm, silver-haired. Definitely wasn't bigging himself up in...
Yep, engine has an ITG foam panel filter in original airbox, an R-sport ECU which gives an extra 500 rpm to play with, a Yozzasport decat, and K-tec stealth catback exhaust.
Brakes are braided lines, Brembo HC discs, Pagid Blue pads, and Castrol SRF brake fluid.
Suspension is 100% standard...
Ha ha ha...predictable responses LMAO
He was having instruction as jonnyboy picked up, so his lines were pretty much spot on. But he did lack confidence on the brakes.
For the first trackday in ages I was actually on normal road tyres - Michelin Exalto's - never tried them before, and...
I must be lucky then, I've done 7-8,000 miles since my decat was put on, and my dash light's still not lit.
I think it was Fred who said that it seems there are a few 172 Cups where they just don't come on. Only 172 Cups, and no idea why though.
Do you have an allocated parking bay - you're there every day?!
Truck racing's fantastic to watch, I remember watching them at the Renault Festival at Thruxton, sideways everywhere.
I hope someone from Brands gets all that rubber off the racing line at Graham Hill...will be a b**ch in the wet.
