Local motor factors got me a QH wishbone no problems, they have them for all sorts including the 2.0 16v.
And yup, I knew exactly what was coming when you wrote it had wishbones with it. I think you'll also find that the antiroll bar isn't as stiff as the 172 one as well so you might want to...
Got it secondhand of harry_manback when he sold his 1.4 only payed £40 for it. Tenner on a K&N cleaning kit and it was as good as new.
The only place i've seen selling them is dp motorsport and they want £150 for one on their site which I wasn't going to pay, they did sell them on ebay for £89...
Its actually a kit designed for the 1.4 16v believe it or not, seeing as the engines are the same barring a longer stroke crank on the 1.6 then the kit fits fine. Despite not being listed on simotas website :S, who knows.
Its the same filter they use on the 2.0 16v kit from what I can see, i'd...
Not convinced theres any (noticable anyway) difference tbh, its certainly a lot more free revving over the standard setup but power wise I don't think theres any dicernable difference. A few dyno runs with the various setups on would be the only surefire way of testing it.
I only ever set out...
Though this thread had my name all over it. Yup take it off and go for a drive without any ducting it'll heat soak like mad but the noise will be all the same. K&N panel filter and it only gets noisyer.
The actual airbox assembly at the back has a resonator chamber in the bottom of it too...
I've got a JBL 75.2 (290w Bridged) and 75.4 (100w per channel) amp and i've had it playing (not loud mind) for half an hour with no sign of it not wanting to start after. As long as you don't go mad on the volume and your batteries half decent i'd have thought it would be too bad.
Well it is modified and any excuse.
Only real engine mod is this:
Sounds nice to me anyway: http://media.putfile.com/Clio-16-16v-Simota-IK
Oh and btw, yes I am a pic ***** :rasp:.
Kept the original plug and added a length of wire about 3 inches back from the plug. Stripped back and soldered. Therefore when I take the car back to standard I just cut the extra wire and reattach the oem speakers.
Will have to keep my eye on the wear level of them then, mind you 9.9/10 they don't get hammered anyway so maybe they'll last a little longer. No loss really if they do wear quick they were only £30 so i'll just try something else.
You can do it yourself with a crowbar and tyre irons but its a ballache and not worth the risk of damaging the rims if there alloys doing it yourself.
Tyre place is the quickest/easiest option, shouldn't cost much more than a few quid.
It seems to happen to quite a few, I wouldn't bother with it unless it really bothers and you can do it yourself as the cambelt has to come off as the rocket covers forms the top of the bearing shells for the camshafts so the cambelt has to come off the stop to camshafts flying out when you take...
I've got some brembo max discs with mintex extreme pads, haven't tried any others to compare but can't fault them myself they work well. Better over standard for sure.
I've got the same brakes as you as well so the performance should be similar i'd have thought.
Right if you look down the socket of the oem speaker then you will see one of the terminals is marked with a "+" which wire connects to that spade is the positive. iirc its the wire nearest the clip.
If you need any real world help drop me a pm i'm only up the road in sunny nuneaton.
I've...
Yep, i've got the part no. somewhere, although if you ring stealers parts department and ask for a clio cd changer bracket they should be able to order you one fine.
Will dig the part no. out if you want?
Polyuerothane (sp?) bushes, much firmer that the standard rubber one. Not cheap mind, you'll need a 172 dogbone mount (mine came with one from the factory) and a set of these: http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1485
