Learner drivers and insurance - is insurance needed?

Over 20 and 3 years driving experience I believe until you can supervise a learner.

    New user: Wiring

The remote will work similarly to the way it did before but its different with different hu's and different adapters. The display probably won't work anymore, the autoleads adapter I put in my mates astra just shows a blank screen now. The incartec shows a few basic things on the display but its...

    Knocking Sunroof

Doubt it because the foam is just pinching tighter it so it doesn't rattle, I had a piece of petrol pipe in mine to stop it from rattling but it never stopped it after a while. I had the entire sunroof replaced under warrenty and that stopped it though i'm scared to use it incase it starts...

If its the autoleads one then the dash top has to come off unfortanetly. Its not overly difficult just a pain in the arse.

Learner drivers and insurance - is insurance needed?

Is adding her to your insurance as a named driver not an option?, wouldn't have thought it'd cost that much.

Depends on the stalk adapter you use, the autoleads one requires you to take the dash top off but the incartec one doesn't.

    Xenon Ballast

They don't look like the ones used in the Clio. Don't think it'll work. Other than getting lucky on ebay or someone having one on here then I think you'll have to bite the bullet, could try cliospares to see if they can get one.

How much are a set of mats from Reno?

I payed £30 or so for some from reno, 1 year and 23k later they still haven't worn through yet. Passenger one has two pieces of chewing gum stuck to it though. :dapprove:

    Brakes ?

Right its coming up to the time where i'm going to have to change my front discs and pads and instead of opting for standard tackle I can't see why its not worth spending a bit more and getting something better. Only trouble is i've got no idea where to start so i'm basically after...

    Media centre PC

Built mine thinking it'd just be a major novelty but its actually been really handy, use it all the mine. Don't use cds anymore mp3 all the way, the tv system works really well imo the only downside is the lack of interactive and subtitles on freeview.

    Oil warning light problem

I've noticed this too, in all the cars i've seen before the oil pressure warning light will say on until you start the engine and the pressure builds up. But not in both the clios i've had, think it has something to do with the fact that its got the electronic oil gauge so it goes off that until...

    Where's ure bite

Nope, thats how they all are. Both my old 1.2, the 1.6 and the two 1.2 courtesy cars i've had are all the same.

Problem: Autoleads steering adapter - please help!

I'm pretty sure its missing the vehicle loom bit, when I fitted one of these in my mates astra is came with a connector to go in that socket which connected to the screen/wheel controls lead in the car.

    Power Cable

Seen it done like that a few times before, the grommet approach is a much cleaner option imo.

    Power Cable

Yep, 4awg will go through the bonnet release grommet easily enough.

    How low?

My old 1.2 used to do that when the light came on, would feel a bit more sluggish than normal. Current one just gets quicker as it sheds the weight, currently on 63 miles to go and its flying. (as much as it can :p)

when is everyone putting their winter wheels on?

Nope, 14s won't fit over the calipers iirc. Need 15s.

show us your tv and stand..

Phone pic so not the best : Sub isn't in the best place really tbh but its the only place i'd fit so thats where it went. MCE pc is a seriously cool and useful piece of kit. Two fronts are on a shelf just above the tv, rears are on the windowsill behind.

New alpine CDE-9850Ri (IPOD) head unit fitted 2day!

Not with the incartec one from CAD, its just plugs into the yellow iso connector that the oem headunit connected to.

Thought it was just the RSi that has the sideskirts and the alloys. Thought the RT didn't have sideskirts and had steelies ?
