Iirc evo (amongst others) rated the cooper s above the 197? And when they tested the 200 (non cup) placed it above the mini?
There's something about the 197 that meant it never clicked with me.
For day to day road use, the sport suspension is better. If using regularly on track, get the cup set-up. The sport chassis ride's better, puts the power down slightly better, and handles better than a cooper s/197/civic type r etc.
I'd rather refurb the standard wheels than get the speedlines. Gloss black goes better with the gloss front end, and the standard wheels are lighter iirc. The yellow interior pack if f**king hideous. Cup suspension, you really, really need to drive both options.
I think you're missing the point fella. It's like the next M3 being a 2l 150bhp diesel, but with full leather/nav etc. It's making a mockery of the heritage and meaning behind the name. And there are people on here that have got fully loaded 200's, with Recaro's for less than the discounted...
