Thanks Henry, part numbers would be awesome if it isn't too much trouble. From a quick peek earlier the bolts didnt look too bad, I'll get it up on my axle standas this week and have a look, might try cracking them off just to see!
Not sure if i'm being stupid, but what gasket would I ask for at a motor factors? I know they all ome in different shapes/sizes etc, so just a 182 cat gasket set?
Sorry if the answer is blindingly obvious but I'm confused!
Kayzee, not sure without looking at the papers, previous owner had it done before I picked the car up, if you pm me tomorrow I'll dig it out and have a look, somewhere near Mansfield though as thats where i bought the car.
Is it as simple as I think it will be?!
I take it I need no special tools, just my socket set and some brute force, or do I need to replace anything?
Going to fit a decat to my standard 182 system.
So far to my car I have removed:
Rear seats
Boot carpet
Rear carpets
Isofix bar and cover
Rear 3 seatbelts
Some random plastic bits.
Was just wondering, will it be worth removing the rear door cards and parcel shelf supports? From playing with them today to remove the seatbelts they don't...
I have 17mm bolts in mine, longer as I'm running spacers.
But can buy loads of different types that will fit over 19mm ones, just used those as an example.
I've literally just bought these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110298045464&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=001
Can spray them whatever colour you like and just slip them over the bolt, no need to get damaged etc.
Also, if you manage to sort out some centre caps can...
OK mate cheers.
I've tried calling up quite a few times in the last month for other reasons to get no answer, left a few answerphone messages with no reply and also emailed with no reply, so if I'm honest I'm reluctant to send any money his way!
Since my car is pretty low, the Cat scrapes most of the time!
Now I could lift it up, but I'm also on the search for a little more noise, so thinking a decat may be the way forward?
I saw in the for sale thread that the Milltek one won't fit a standard exhaust? So Do any of them fit?
Not for my car?
36k and Aux belt (all stated on the receipt I have) including fully synthetic oil, was either £350 or £450.
I would get it done at 36k, for the sake of a few hundred quid why risk it. And a few hundred isn't pocket change, but you know these cars are costly to run, it's part...
Only joking mate, just take it easy as said and it will come with practice. Think I did 7 cars when I had it and it soon gets easier, noticed a big improvement in skills after the first 2/3.
^ The standard offset is ET45, the offset is the measurement from the centre of the wheel to the mounting face of the wheel - the lower the offset to more the wheel sticks out of the arches basically.
They are ET53, with 6mm spacers, so a few mm further in than the standard wheels, but because...
gonna experiment a bit with colours, but i like how it looks.
perfect for the car as I will be getting on track as much as possible when I finally get my payrise.
feels miles better to drive!
the fact that 4 tyres were only £126 was persuasive enough for me to be honest!!
The spec 2 mate, yet to comment on the wet but around islands it just sticks!
The offset is ET53, running 6mm spacers to get back the the standard offset, but because they are smaller wheels it exaggerates it a lot, so next up are some slightly bigger spacers.
Parky - thought about that...
Just saved 20kgs overall from swapping my standard 182 wheels for some 15's, they weight in at about 18-19kgs each.
Mine feels a lot better to drive, less tramlining on 195 wide tyres, better turn in and response, love it :D
Thanks Matt :)
They are lightweight Enkeis (the same as used on Evo 7's I think?)
Nah on Yoko Paradas, which are stupidly sticky, miles better than PE2's, although they have only been on 24 hours and it hasn't rained yet!!

After:
I wimped out of a mad colour to begin with, tyres came a few days before i expected them to so in a mad rush I decided on matt black, which i now love!!
Need some bigger spacers and possibly some mad coloured calipers, but looks good to me!
20kg saving overall from...
Mmmmm, DC5! I want one badly!
Seem to be getting more common up here, saw 3 white ones today alone, one was modified a bit, lowered, nice exhaust, some gold wheels, light tints, looked amazing!
Definately a car I want to own at some point!
Nice one!
Mine is going a bit that way, hopefully by the end it will be semi stripped, drivers bucket seat, along with the H&R's and 15's I have.
Got anything in mind?
Yeah just got my 15's on the car today with a rushed bodge respray! Feels better to drive, although I'm still scrubbing the tyres in so nowhere near pushed it yet!
Love the car, just doing some bits and bobs to it before taking it on track for some fun!
Yours?
What tyre pressures should I run on the road?
Currently got 30 in the back and 33 up front, but the tyres seem pretty squashed when still, and a bit wallowy when driving?
Any advice?
