Bump... Going on the first post, would I blank up the hole in my decat, and then just secure the lambda under the car somewhere and it would read clean air?

Just took my cat off to fit my decat but the lambda doesnt want to come out :( Using PlusGas and heating it up but it won't budge, any ideas?

Nope standard setting (well, I havnt changed it and the car was 100% std when I bought it). Thinking it is shite as he is about 28 stone and thinks he is a racing driver/kart racer.....!!

Bloke at work said to me that I should have the brake bias reset due to lowering my car. Something to do with less weight shift due to being stiffer so need more braking going to the rear? Never heard of this so guessing it's s**t?

ah right. easy job to do? did you replace any fitting bits for it?

its easy mate, pretty self explanatary when you do it, but hard to explain! just need a set of torx bits and job done mate. you're right about the MOT too. did you fit the decat? is it on the std system?

about 30kgs mate, ive got my seatbelts out too! nice decat, looks the same as mine!

^ Yep that was the problem. Solved it by just sitting it on top of the original nuts any putting another on top to hold it in place, no contact with anything so perfectly quiet :D Looks cool too.

he's in leciester so not far. I'll get in touch with him tonight and see if he is interested. He recently set up and raced a 220bhp ep3 civic in the britcar 24h race and came 6th overall against supercars! So he knows his stuff. I'll let you know mate.

A bloke at work has hired it out for the day. I'm guessing it will be the full sprint track, although either way for under £50 I'm not gonna complain, should have plenty of track time in the day and it's only 30 mins from my house.

thanks for the help :) I say new tyres, they have done 1k miles so not brand new. Burp, I know it is only a short low speed track, but for a beginner it's perfect. Quiet, open, plenty of time to play and dirt cheap.

Good thread! I've got my first trackday booked at Curborough Sprint Track, only £47.50! Gonna take a spare wheel, tools, jack, axle stands etc, compressor, tyre pressure guage and a few bits and bobs, but all will be taken out for when i'm on track. Mods to the car are stripped, H&R's...

^ why is that bad? Wouldn't have got my order and payment until Tues morning when he started work, sent out asap and got to me by weds morning, seems good to me, especially as delivery was only a tenner.

I have just got a full set of Yokos on my 15's. In the dry they are phenomenal, tons of grip and squeel nicely when you pish it a bit far :D In the wet they are ok provided you dont thrash the steering about too much, quick sharp turns loose them, but if you turn in fairly gently they do...

Well it sits on top of the rubber top mount inside, then the bolt on top, all seemed solid so thought it would be fine :S

Fitted my rear strut brace last night, at first it was spot on, but then after a while it has started squeaking/tapping :S I've checked numerous times that it's all tight etc, but it kept doing it. I've just taken it off and all is good, no noise or anything. So is there any way to stop this...

I used to average about 29mpg, stripped about 30-40kgs out of the rear, put some lightweight 15's wheels on it, and it is getting a lot more hammer now due to more noise and I'm getting 32mpg!
