    Recommendations for timing belts

Another thumbs up from me for Mick at Diamond motors  . It's a 6 hour round trip for me but well worth it. As northloop says , it'll look alot better on your service history if Mick does it rather than a friend .

    EML light on

Try swapping the lambda sensors round . Could be your Cats knackered or blocked . I saw one on here not that long ago that was blocked . If you do a search you might find it.

    Car ramps

Why not just make some ramps ? I made some about 20 years ago out of 18mm plywood, they're solid as a rock. I made them to suit my car , length , height etc ...... job done .

    Uniroyal RS3

I find them good in the snow too . I've just got home from my g/f's and the side roads are covered in snow , crept up a big hill to my house in 2nd gear no problem

MOT failure - Not to bad - Bit of help though please

I was assuming FF182 with cup packs ? Most usually are. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Renault-Clio-Sport-172-182-Scenic-Megane-amp-Twingo-LH-Track-Rod-End-/281697000271 Lemforder are decent quality and a bit cheaper . Have a look for a discount code for Euro car parts...

Long brake lever travel after fluid change

If they can't manage that , God knows what the rest of their work is like. Any decent garage would have done that without hesitation . The least they could have done was phone the OP and tell them.

Long brake lever travel after fluid change

Exactly . Sounds like a shite garage to me .

Long brake lever travel after fluid change

Sounds like you've still got air in the system. Why didn't the garage remove the broken bleed nipples and replace them ? Sounds like a lazy garage to me . Get some stainless bleed nipples . They won't shear off ...

New Exhaust and bad rattle in 1st and 2nd

I doubt very much the spring will have broken if its a genuine Renault spring, they're very strong . The bolt through the spring might have rusted away pulling through the hole in the exhaust manifold making it loose ? I've had loads rust over the years . I'd start with getting this end of the...

MOT failed lambda emissions too high even with new sensor!

That's exactly what I do . In fact did this morning . Half a bottle of redex into half a tank and took my car for a 30 min hard drive to make sure it was up to temp. Whether the redex actually works or not I don't know, but definitely make sure the engine is up to temp . Mine passed

    Uniroyal RS3

Tell me about it . Annoyed as f**k . I'd been driving a wagon all day with ultra light steering , so just put it down to the Clios heavier steering . Only when I got home did I noticed how flat it was . The RS3s are very thin though on the shoulder/ sidewall . You can easily feel your fingers...

    Uniroyal RS3

Just a word of warning . I've been running RS3's since they were launched so I'm used to a little bit of a squirmy feeling when newly fitted, but love the tyres . Just don't ever run them underinflated . I had a slow puncture last week , ran it for an hour and wondered why the steering felt...

    Uniroyal RS3

They do feel a bit strange at first , up the pressures a couple of psi. Plus they need a few miles to scrub in . I'm on my 4th set , previously RS2's . The wear rate is shite , but they stick like s**t to a blanket in the wet .

    182 - Rattle/judder from boot floor

You sure it's the boot floor ? What condition is the centre exhaust hanger in ? It might be hitting underneath the car here if it's knackered .

    Ottoman blue Vs artic blue?

Have you checked the " parts for sale " ? Somebodys breaking a 172 Cup . Or maybe put a post in the wanted section . Sometimes people have parts they don't need but they haven't advertised them. https://www.cliosport.net/threads/clio-172-cup-breaking.815009/#post-11543827

    Ottoman blue Vs artic blue?

Thats looks spot on . :smile:I thought Mondial Blue would be a better match than Arctic Blue . You'll just have to keep your eye out for some Mondial Blue side trims now .

    £44 for a Dipstick...

Is it the same engine as the Twingo 133 ? I know f**k all about Twingos and Clio GT's . Just had a quick read and it says its the same engine . If it is , you can buy from from RPD for £23.40. You could always phone them and ask. Tel. 0844 7709375...

Auto-wipers sensitivity level switch - broken or just crap on 172?

You should be able to feel it click . I always leave mine turned on fully ( away from me ) . As it rains harder , the wipers should wipe faster.

How many clio 182 still survive

According to this , there were 5222 UK registered 182's http://web.archive.org/web/20150206052610/http://renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/heritage Not sure how accurate this was ? But it says at the end of quarter 3 2017 there were 3121 still on the road and 1070 sorn...

    Ottoman blue Vs artic blue?

I disagree. Mines Arctic blue and the colour is a deeper , darker blue than Mondial blue. Only ever so slightly , but it is.
  27. MRBILLYUK

    Ottoman blue Vs artic blue?

I don't think so . Arctic blue is a deeper blue. You might get away with Mondial blue off a 172 Cup.

    What tyres?

I almost opted for those myself a couple of weeks ago . Just the negative review about aquaplaning put me off , it rains hell of alot where I live . So I stuck with Uniroyal Rainsport 3's which I've used for nearly 2 years now ( on my 4th set) . The only thing that lets the RS3's down is the...

SERV, ESP & ABS Lights on AND car randomly cutting out?

It would also be useful to know who actually found the fault , garage / auto electrician ( name ) and location etc ......... I'm asuming it wasn't the first garage you took it to as they were suggesting it " might " be the ecu .It gives people an idea who to use and who to avoid .
