Like Landman says . It'll probably have leaked most or all of the gas out now . If it's only a small pin hole you might be able to fix it with this . It's worth a try for £4.25...
Or you could take it to Birchdown . They're only an hour away from you and have a courtesy car , so you can potter about in that while you wait . Get all the jobs done at once.

Checked the fuses and relays all secure . I didn't want to start pulling any relays out just in case something else fucked , that would be just my luck . Had a bit of a nightmare day yesterday with things going titsup . The battery connection wasn't the tighest but not what you...
Ok. I'll do that first thing tomorrrow . Cheers  When you say check them , you mean just check they're not loose or should I be looking for something else as well ?
Stop, serv, battery and handrake light all came on together today , lots of clicking from under the glove box area at the same time and wouldn't start . Took about 5 attempts . Anybody know what the problem / solution might be ? It's been ok since , but just went out to move the car and the...
I have these . Similar to the Halfords ratchet axle stands but they have a locking pin . On sale at the moment for £17.35

I used cable ties just as a precaution . I've seen the original rubbers just peel away and literally fall out of the aluminium bracket . This way , it can't fall out .
I just got 2 new exhaust hangers and filled in the gaps with some of this high temp sealant so it was more soild but still flexible . They've been on the car for about 3 years now and still doing their job . First of all though , i put cable ties through all of the holes because the original...
They are heavy by nature in 1*2's from New, compared to alot of other cars . I've had courtesy and rental cars and nearly put my foot through the floor then get back into my 182 and it feels as heavy as fcuk for the first few miles . I actually prefer a heavy clutch , although in stop / start...
I had a dent taken out years ago over the rear wheel arch . The PDR guy took off the back light cluster and accessed it through there. So I would imagine if you buy the car you should be able to get it sorted relatively cheaply . Maybe you could use this dent as a bit of a bargaining chip and...
It'll probably be a dodgy pic . My 172 when taking a pic from certain angles looked like 2 different shades of silver on the wings compared to the rest of the body work.
Oh and welcome to CS @Rob46m3
I just noticed yours is a 1.6 . I don't know which ABS ring yours will be . If you take it to the garage they should know and like I said , they're only a couple of quid for a new ABS ring so don't let them tell you it's a silly amount of money for the part .
I got my local garage to do it as it was in for something else at the same time .
If you search on here or ebay . I bought mine from J+R who sell the driveshafts . They only cost about 3 quid
When I had a split ABS ring , the lightest of touches on the brake pedal would trigger the ABS , then lights on the dash. Once I had the lights on the dash I could drive it and the pedal wouldn't judder anymore when pressed. New ring , job sorted.
I'd go for Rainsports 3's . I've been running them and Rainsports 2's for the past few years now . Fantastic grip in the wet , some people don't like them in the dry but I've never had a problem with them when pushing on . The wear rate is s**t , but I can live with that knowing how well they...
No , just this small puddle of water . It does seem like it's been trickling from where I said . I've just been and dried it off and put some sealant around it . I'll monitor it and see if it's better. Like I said before . I sealed the grommets years ago when I had water coming intto the boot ...
I'm 99% certain it's coming from there , when I press it a litttle bit of water comes out . It's just a small puddle of water. I sealed the black grommets years ago. I'll put some sealant around it when it stops pissing down and see if that cures it . I never knew what they were , thanks
There does seem to be a bit of play in the bearing . I'm not sure if thats normal or the cause of your grinding problem . I fitted original discs/ bearings a couple of years ago and don't recall the bearing having play like that. @bloke or somebody else might come along and might be able to give...
I know there's been umpteen posts about water inside the car over the years , in various places . I noticed over the weekend a small puddle of water under the rear passenger seat . It sems to be coming from this " metal bung/cap " or whatever it actually is .
My question is . What is this bung...
It might just be the " cheap " discs / bearings you've fitted . They're not a make that people usually go for . Did you fit the spacer behind the disc ? If you didn't this could be cause of the problem with the bearing. @George@RTR_Parts...
