Carbon fibre vinyl on the roof

Could look nice if it's on dark wheels.

    ph1 172 Vs ph2 172/182

Having owned both, I'd rather a ph2 172 than a 182. No difference in speed, the exhaust costs less when (not if) it falls off, you get a spare wheel, and 35mpg v 32mpg. And far nicer colour range.

Traction Control on a trackday... on or off?

Easy solution. Have a look in the footwell, should be 3 rectangular plates attached to arms. The one on the right, be gentle with it;).

Traction Control on a trackday... on or off?

c**t of a corner, I got a passenger ride from a Jag test/development driver and he was struggling there. Burp suggested trying 3rd gear, going to give it a whirl next time.

Traction Control on a trackday... on or off?

Where are you going for the track day?

Traction Control on a trackday... on or off?

Why not? Ph1 172's and early ph2's didn't have it. It's only 165ish bhp, not really needed.

Traction Control on a trackday... on or off?

Pain in the arse at Bedford, especially at the first hairpin and the left leading onto the straight.

    ph1 172 Vs ph2 172/182

Ph1 has cable throttle, ph2 has fbw.

    ph1 172 Vs ph2 172/182

Throttle response is better in the ph1, no doubt. And it's immediately noticeable. Have you owned a 182? Or just the Trophy?

    ph1 172 Vs ph2 172/182

Don't forget they are lighter as well.

    ph1 172 Vs ph2 172/182

Ph1's are slightly quicker in my experience, most likely a poorly one.

You can get the wheel retrimmed in leather cheap. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=395478&highlight=wheel+retrim+leather I prefer ph1's, more fun imo.

    172 touring car look

No offence intended, but it looks very chav imo. The colour scheme is wrong, the wheels are wrong. Would look awful on a 197 as well.

Trying to organise a trip up to casa-jew soon, have to have a pint if you're aboot.

    V6 Meets Gallardo!

The average petrol head would have a pants-explosion at a Vee and Gee in convoy. Stunning. Good pics. For a Jew.

    AST's are on

Soft as they go on the front, then play with the back. On track i went full hard on the rear but still max soft on the front.

turbo-super cup inlet or new car?

You won't get 5.7 out of the ek9, iirc that time was set using one of the super stripped versions, not the standard road car. And they are pretty old. Depends what you want really, meg 225?

It's the constant evolution that's impressive. The Meg started out ordinary, but the R26 was outstanding.

    I didn't declare brake pads/discs. I don't declare if I change my tyres,so why brakes?

    EVO mag, Clio200

Good review/write up. I never a big fan of the 197, not quick enough or fun enough IMO. Every head to head review with the Trophy I read agreed with this (Evo, PC mag) and the Trophy was slightly quicker around Bedford (same driver same day). Looks like the 200 blows them both away. 10mph...

    Best Place for ITB's

I've not had ITB's, but can't help noticing that a lot of cars have them, get finished, then get sold.

Thats £360 extra over 2 years for the iphone. Just buy a 3g and get it unlocked? At least you're not then tied in.
