Pre cat lambda? Mine would hesitate a little when it was on the way out under acceleration.
The dephaser kicks in about 5k rpm but not sure how to check it
When I went to buy a throttle body gasket the guy in the parts department quoted me £300 as he thought I wanted a new throttle body so from that I think they are still available.
Also I think the only genuine fix for this is to fit ITBs......
I don't on me...but there might be one in my project thread. But the way I have laid my cables and wires is so I can put it all back to standard if I need to.
I'll message my dad to get one as it is at his and I am not
Do you want some cable tidy stuff to put your interior loom in? I bought too much when doing mine and it's just sitting at home doing nothing. There should be plenty to do what I've done again.
It's black ribbed tube with a slit down to put wires/cables through. I've got a length down each side...
I've booked it into the local VAG specialist as I am at my wits end with it. Hoping their just hear it and know exactly what it is.
It's got a new alternator so presume it isn't that. Also the turbo is off the original engine as I knew it was good. Both cars were not making this noise before...
I am hoping it is exhaust gasket, going to check after work later.
When in the car it sounds like it is from behind the steering wheel area, that's why it think it is down by the aux belt and thought possible air con. This is where the intercooler and some turbo pipe work is. Tried to check it...
What I didn't think of doing was removing the aux belt and driving up the road a bit (only has air con, power steering and alternator on the aux belt). The tensioner is new so sure it isn't that.
I had more of a google last night and there are a few more things to check....turbo to exhaust...
Not quite Clio related but my Octavia vRS (1.8T 20v turbo), feel free to move to a more relevant place! The Skoda forum is a little quiet.
Basically had to change the engine as cam belt tensioner let go. Doing so the air con needed disconnecting. So far I haven't re-gassed it as I wanted to...
@Coops Turbo is your Ph1 the cover photo for a Renault Facebook page?
The odessey Ph1 I looked at in December has just been re-advertised...so tempting. Bit of a project though as needs a new dephaser and a lot of love. £700. If I hadn't had to change the engine in my vRS I would do it.
My new TD Pro Race 3 wheels don't fit onto the rear of my car as the hub nut cover has a small lip on stopping them form seating properly.
Before I get the file out and start taking material off, does anyone know if new ones have this small lip on? If they don't would rather get new ones if at...
Just bought some CM Composites door cards and wonder how people have attached theirs/similar.
I currently have light weight door cards but are made from a thin plastic sheet on a roll and was rivited in place mainly as it was easy to do and as the material came on a roll it couldn't be stuck in...
It's confirmed, I have the Ph1 disease....when my daily drive Octavia vRS is back working I am going to keep my eye out for an Odessey Blue Ph1 to have as a daily car. There has to be something wrong with me
Having a massie nightmare with the daily vRS, engine swap not progressing as fast as I hoped and working away in the week with work is slowing the progress. But managed to get out and enjoy the Clio this weekend at Llandow. Started off with a nice clean Friday evening, did need it after the...
Exactly how my inner sills look. I had a poke down mine the other day while I was in the back, and was plesantly surprised. I Kurusted them the other year but wouldn't mind doing it again.
I agree with you @DaveDreads with the attachment stuff. People think I'm mad for pouring money into mine, when realistically it's a piece of French scrap. It's my car and won't be sold...I'll pass it on to my grand children to burden their lives with lol. Or put back to OEM if they go up in...
New wheels on, not so "in your face" anymore
Desparate need of a clean inside and out.
I will own a second one as my daily car...is three cars too many??
This is the reason I do not want to turbo my Clio:
Got to change the engine in my Octavia vRS as this happened...its a picture of the inside of a spark plug hole looking at the piston
Yes that is a nice valve mark in it...and same with all the other three! But the engine is so damn complex...
Clio is back on the road!!
Bit of a story behind this though....
The Skoda daily driver was making a noise that sounded like a belt tensioner failing. The AUX tensioner was going mad so swapped this. That fixed that tensioner but still had this noise. Decided it was cam belt tensioner. Cam belt...
A lot of progress happened yesterday, nearly all of the jobs are ticked off the list of things I wanted to get done.
My brother very kindly helped me sort some things out, which included gear box oil change, bleed the brakes and fit new DS2500 pads to the front.
Had all the gear box oil change...
Luckily the car will be on stands as I need to bleed the brakes and the N/S arch is currently off!
Few jobs lined up this weekend and it should be back on the road after some tlc.
thought this might be the case, but didn't want to get caught out if I split some (or forget to put the drain plug back in!)
Tbh I am not sure how much is actually in there already as I've never changed it in the 3 years of owning it and the selector thing is covered in oil, presumable the...
@chris blue I would get the 4x 1ltr option though. From what I have found in here the gear box takes a little over 3ltrs (will stand corrected). You probably won't remove every drop so could get away with 3ltr but I got the extra one in case of any mishaps.
In other news I have got a new...
