My high pressure PAS pipe failed on mine over the summer. I forked out for a genuine Renault replacement, looked at how difficult the job was to do and then took the car to the local garage to swap it for me. All in was shy of £500 to fix. The guy in the garage said he had to take the subframe...
At least it wasn't the guy being incompetent.
But what is number 1(?) on the diagram? Can't quite see the number but it's the number between 6 and 13 and the bottom. It just points to the underside of the gear box - is it the gear box casing or plug?
Just what I thought! So does this page know more than amthe direct Renault parts place? Saying that, you have to go to the Ford garage to buy Renault parts, or the Renault dealers if you phone up, odd I know.
Sure GSF will have a copper washer thing for it.
Greenlight have sorted me out a few times for track insurance. I do have two other policies with them though on my CLio and daily car, not sure if they will offer cover if you are not covered with them already. I would phone them up and ask, really helpful on the phones.
Bought a new gear box drain plug and seal thing direct from Renault. Reading on here there was two - a drain and a fill, but when I ordered there was only one the guy could find on the exploded diagram and it said "drain and fill" in the description.
I was under the impression the fill one was...
sorry to be a pain but it turns out I had a ticket bought for me to go on a different stand to increase their numbers so they could call themselves a "club" so I wont be needing one anymore
Wheels look spot on.
Your door strips, have the standard "textured" ones been painted or are they smooth? The standard logo badge in them is a nice touch actually, breaks the colour up.
Lucky escape with dropping the car, I'm always paranoid about lifting a car into axle stands.
I don't tend to jack onto the sills if I have to. I use a trolley jack under the front wishbone joint and then place an axle stand on a bolt on a chassis plate strengthening thing just behind the ARB...
Really? Thought they weren't too bad tbh.
Also need brake fluid (RBF600) and its marginally cheaper than eBay.
Sump plug I posted up was marginally cheaper on eBay. But for the sake of a few quid I would rather get it all from one place than faff around with chasing procing and waiting for it...
Another way of checking is to un plug an injector while the car is running and if it gets worse and goes to 2 cylinders then that injector is OK. If there is no change then that injector is at fault.
Renparts on eBay do new genuine injectors for ~£35 each (or they did when I bought them last...
Hacked up more of my passenger headlight to make a cold air feed. Just need some black sillicone stuff to hold the cone thing in place. Then sort out the side light bulbs. Bit of help fom my step dad and now know what I need to get - stop a tail bulb holder, an LED flasher unit and an LED side...
What size is the gear box drain and fill plug? I was thinking of putting one of them magnetic ones in (probably just the drain plug) but wanted to know what size. I can't remeber if it is the same as the sump plug, but then again I have o idea what that size is either...
Couldn't you just spray the fog light surrounds? I've sprayed mine satin black, as I wanted to re-paint the brake duct trumpets as they got stone chipped but glued into the light surrounds. Doesn't look any different to standard tbh.
start off with some bad stuff.....had a phone call from my brother the other week (the last time he called me was when my dad was rushed to hospital a few weeks before so I was sort of worrying) as his girlfriend drove into the Clio. Great. The car is at the back of a driveway 4 car lengths...
One of the horns could be at fault. Mine sounds pathetic as only one is working.
Try to clean up any electrical connections to see if this helps to get it working.
Prob best bet is to replace, can't be that expensive for a second hand one.

I was quoted £80 each (15") the other day from a tyre place in Gloucester, sure that was a fitted price too.
Black Circles were doing them for £86 each fitted
£130 delivered from Demon Tweeks on eBay (that is the right size, isnt it??)...
I am making an cold air feed that runs through the main beam on the Ph1, but the hose will block the side light bulb and it wont be seen. I have looked at cutting a second hole in the light unit for it but it requires a lot of cutting and then I am not sure it will work.
My brother then...
Everytime I see an Odyssey Blue Ph1 it makes me regret not buying the one I had the chance of buying before Christmas. I have a sneaky feeling of kept standard and in a good condition the blue ones, along with Flamers will hold their value.
I WILL OWN A SECOND Ph1!! haha
I'll come along. Just need to find out what my step dad is doing. Any objections if I get him a ticket as well? He will be in an E36 328.
I will also be out on track at least once.
I think I also saw this one for sale and looked like a really good spec, just too far away for a quick look.
What are the plans for it? Keep it standard or track?
I know the feeling!!
I want a second one. Should have bought the Odessey Blue one I looked at before Christmas and convinced my step dad to help put a new engine in and mother to have "another broken car" on the drive way.
It's been a while since being out on track. I did think I would do more last year so hopefully this year I will! Just can't have my step dad be quicker than me in his E36!
It's from eBay. I search for "calliper paint orange". Tbh I don't expect it to stay that orange for long! Just something to add a bit of colour behind the black wheels.
Glad I did the second coat as the first wasn't quite thick enough. Just need to use the car to clean the discs up as they are...
No...because they haven't been made yet! I removed the fogs and put in trumpets the other year but not put any ducting in (to cool my inner arches haha).
I've bought some flexi hose stuff to connect the trumpet cone things and just going to cut a hole in the arch lining. Hopefully will get them...
I want to put a cold air feed by taking out the N/S main beam and putting a pipe through the light (because race car). Still want to run the car in the dark so need lights, other wise I would source some light blanks.
I have a second light unit I have started to take apart - so far it is pieces...
Fw more jobs done this weekend.
I know painted calipers are not the usual thing to do and people tend to hate them. When the wheels were black I did find the car looked like it had nothing in the arches, just black voids. So I want to still have a small bi of colour there so decided to paint...
Mine did exctly the same thing last summer, also when I was going to sell it! It turned out to be the High Pressure PAS pipe.
I did drive mine when it was leaking but checked it before and during the journey back home and did top it up along the way as I didn't want to cause any more damage. It...
