Just picked up my first Clio 172 Sport

No - to time it up WITH the new belt on! Renault is your best bet for the tools!

Just picked up my first Clio 172 Sport

To time it up properly, you MUST release the pulleys on the camshafts. It can't be done any other way. Ignore them who say you shouldn't do it at home, you can - as long as you have the correct tools. You need 3 tools, the crank pin, the cam horse shoe and the pulley locking tool (this is used...

Clio 03 172 spat it dummy!!!

I'd say it needs going to a garage where they can diagnose it, rather than blindly guessing at what it could be over the internet. Yes, it'll cost you a chunk of cash, but at least you'll get an answer. You'll probably spend loads of money blindly buying parts anyway!

    Excel help please....

Reorder the comlumns on sheet 2, putting network point in the first column. You can then use the lookup formula on sheet 1 in the mac address column. Something like the below. =VLOOKUP(B2,Sheet2!A:B,2,FALSE)

    Stupid oil question!

Don't just chuck a litre in, it'll probably end up being over filled. Over full, is probably just as bad as under! To be fair, I would leave it. It looks about 1/4 above the min mark to me.

As above, as long as it's above min don't worry about it!

    1.5DCi or 2.0VVT?

I think £3-400 is common place for a remap. My remap on the Volvo was £419, however I did gain 70+bhp and 90lb-ft torque, so felt worth it. I think if I spent that kind of money for better drivability and 2bhp i'd be annoyed! (1*2 owers!) however on the DCI you should get good results

    STOP light flashes randomly

Whatever it is, you need to figure it our before driving too much more in case it's serious!

I use a cheap Silverline rotary from GeeJays (local shop, you've probably heard of it) Yes, you have to be more careful with a rotary, but it gives good results.

East Midlands - Rolling Road Day - June 21st

Re: East Midlands - Rolling Road Day - Date TBC I'm in, any date. It's only just up the road for me. I want to see 300bhp and 350lb-ft next time I run so end June would be better (gives me time to get exhaust and intake sorted) Chris

    1.5DCi or 2.0VVT?

Lol, I can't beleive that i'm now getting better MPG in my new car. More weight (only just), 60% more power & an extra cylinder and i'm still consistantly getting hight MPG than my 197 ever did! lol I even saw 40mpg at the weekend over a 60 mile journey!

    Well this sucks..... (Vacuums)

If your Dyson wasn't much good on hard floors, I think it must be broken. We've got a DC40 in the house and a really old (10+ year old) dyson in the garage (for hoovering the garage and the cars) and both are great. Of course the more modern DC40 has better suction and is much lighter and more...

    Oil

The gearbox oil should be fine, that's what I used to run in my 197. Chris
