Morning all,
I'm after some reccomendations for decent rubber in the above size for my new wheels.
I'm currently looking at Bridgestone Potenza S001, Contisport 5's etc but cannot make up my mind. Any thing else I should be looking at (Hankooks maybe?)
Cheers,
Chris
Yeah not far away, I'm about a minute off jct 28!
Off ft to collect the wheels tomorrow, got a bit of a bargain at £425 for the set fully refurbed. They usually fetch a lot more but this happened to finish at a silly time (14:52 on a Wednesday?!?). Now just to decide on a set of tyres (and fit...
Morning guys,
I'm off to pick up a set of wheels tomorrow that have recently been refurned and powder coated. Currently they have no tyres so it's an ideal time to get the well sealed.
I've never really done anything with wheels so have no idea what's best, can anyone give me a list of...
Quick update. Won an eBay auction today for a set of 18" Volvo Medusa wheels which were an option wheel for the r design I beleive. They are freshly refurbed and ready for new rubber, hoping to pick them up at the weekend. Ok so it loses a little of the sleeperness but it'll smarten the car up...
Good on the guy for doing that, sounds awesome. I really wish they'd put the 2.4 lump in the S40, however I can understand why they didn't.
I looked at the S60's when buying mine, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy one!
Glad I'm not the only grandad car driver on here anymore!
Any ideas where it was mapped and anything else it had? 320bhp and 330lb-ft sounds a lot from just a remap!
Buy the coolant from Renault. It's about £12 for 5l of ready mixed type D.
How badly did it overheat? If it got VERY hot then it could potentially have damaged the head etc.
If I was taking it to a garage, i'd want something better than 'We think it's the radiator' and 'it varies' regarding...
Nitrous would be the cheapest and easiest way tbh.
That or buy another car like I did. I wanted more power so bought something with a 5pot turbo. £1000 of modifications have given me an extra 64bhp & 110lb-ft of torque!
400bhp and 450+lb-ft and i'll be happy. Both of which should be easily acheivable on a Focus RS K16 turbo. My current plan (the one above) will get me well on the way leaving only the turbo, injectors and a map i think.
I'm hoping to keep the sleeper look though, so may just go down the Focus...
Glad to be of assitance!
I'm just trying to decide where to go next power wise. I get mixed reviews on whether an exhaust will actually release any power, that said the current exhaust MUST be holding it back. ST's with decats and std exhaust (even on std maps) pop and bang whereas my car is...
5/6 years (dependeing on when the car was registered) or 72k miles, whichever you get to first. Either way, a 2007 197 is overdue a belt change by now, did you buy it recently?
There are LOTS of threads on this here and over on 197.net. Price wise you're looking somewhere about £500.
No...
According to most Focus ST and T5 forums the original system is quite restrctive ( the volvo especially) even with the large DP and decat the car is virtually silent! Surely silent is restricted?
On a side note I did a 122 mile trip yesterday and averaged 45.6MPG!! I certainly wasn't expecting...
Yes it was done on Saturday. It could be temperature related as it was sat on the dyno for a good few minute (running) whilst they messed about with configuration etc. They didn't turn the fan on until just befor ethe runs.
I'm not sure what else could be causing it to be honest as I certainly...
I think he's referring to the OP's as his inlet temp is very high. The Dyno software uses this figure to correct the results. Basically it says car x has made 180bhp @ 50 degrees IT, however the AT is 22 degrees and will adjust the figure to allow for the difference between AT & IT (basically...
Quick update. It's been back on the rollers at Dyno Tech. The only changes since my last run are a fixed boost leak and a new recirc dump valve. It made 281 bhp and just under 350lb-ft. Graph below. Not sure what went wrong but the power dropped off drmatically at about 5.1k whereas last run it...
Does this not cause the ECU to back things off a little? Maybe something to do with the lower result? Seems weord for a clutch/flywheel to bring on EML light, which sensor is it tripping?
EDIT: I've just read about this on RST website, they say it's mapped out - maybe your map isn't quite...
IT and AT are fine, 9 degrees above atmospheric temp is fine. Mine were 22 & 24. You're engine light is on though isn't it? Do you know why that is?
They do appear to have run the rollers in N/A engine mode however. The roller rate is set lower than in was on my run. I believe it should have...
