Don't some policys say that they will provide a brand new car of the same specification in the event of it being written off < 12 months old? I know my wifes policy does on her car. That's with Churchill.
They don't give it away! Surely the PC manufacturer pays something for the software licence!
If you buy a system from somewhere like eBuyer you can buy OS free for a reduced cost which clearly shows to me that Microsoft receive something for the OS........... or am I missing something?
I'm guessing he's replaced it for a y pipe of some sort? Big job that as the manifold has to come off to get at it? The pre-cat is only small isn't it? I can't see it being worth much personally.
This joker has posted on 197.net, see below
'Just brought a Clio 197 07 reg with 40k 5days ago and now it broken i was goin 70 on motorway and den put my foot down to 120 and then the engine started to make a rattling and clonking sound has ne 1 Eva had this problem i Fort these cars were built...
Please don't do this.
Buy a 1.2 or something if you want to 'slam' it. What is the point in having one of the best handling hot hatches available and then not being able to drive it in the way it was designed?
The limit is 70, nobody is going to help you with 'sitin at 110-flat out' also, 110 isn't flat out.
However, having said that, 110 for long periods won't cause any issues.
I was suprised when I read this in Renaults own manual! I presumed they would have some elaborate and expensive tool but now 'jam a screwdriver in the flywheel' is the answer!
Don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't know how to get the pulley off then are you sure removing the head is a job you should be doing?
Do you have the tools for timing it back up?
I think i'll have a go at them myself. I'll remove them, sand them down as smooth as possible and paint them up. I need to do the rears too.
Now to decide on a colour........!?
I've said above, the plan is some HEL lines and ATE super blue fluid.
Any ideas on what's best to do with the calipers? I want a good finish so brush on caliper paint is out of the equation. Can you get high temp lacquer to go over high temp paint? Or shall i find somewhere to powdercoat?
Probably never, however mine look to have reacted to something (maybe brake cleaner?) and have disformed (see below!) It's a good excuse to get them powder coated or painted also (and maybe some hel lines and ATE superblue)
If the shaft is back in place then yes, it'll be fine.
The Passenger shaft isn't secured in place so it is easy to pull it out of the gearbox (as you found out!) But as long as you've bolted it back together properley it'll be fine!
How much oild did you lose?
It's normal for oil to leak out if you pull the driveshaft out, as long as you didn't lose loads I wouldn't worry. If a substantial amount leaked then it wants topping up.
Spot on, thanks.
I can't believe I haven't found that. I've been seaching for Brembo repair etc etc but didn't manage to spot them.
Any idea what the small bits at the top of the picture are?
