Great write up. Cannot believe that was just 6000 words I've read. Sound like you've had an amazing journey over last 6 months.
Great driving on the vids. The spa video was fantastic until the pop. Good luck with the new engine.
I was always under the impression the standard 182 wheels were heavy and Oz F1s would be much lighter. My Oz F1s with R888s on are 13.2 kilos. My standard 182 wheels with some kind of Michelin tyres on are 13.4 kilos.
So pretty much the same unless R888s are a super heavy tyre in comparison.
Oh really that's good to know thanks.
So if I did set mine to -2 camber, it would it help the tyre wear on track (on hard cornering say), but not increase tyre wear on the road too much?
I know it's a compromise between the both. Just looking for a way to keep my tyres as flat on the ground...
I have Sportline springs and I have downsized wheels to Oz F1s with R888s. Do I need camber bolts or not?
I was thinking they might help maintain more even tyre wear and be more suited for my track car. But I also use it for small a-b journeys as well as getting to and from the tracks also...
Lovely car mate. Wheels look fab in that colour too. Really like these cars. 3 of my mates have got CTRs. All in a different model though. Spoon exhausts are LOUDDDDDDDDDD.
Oh just seen it's for sale now. Reading fail by me.
Why so soon!?
Re: Our ring and spa report (3 TF days, 1 trackday at ring, 1 trackday at spa) Pics/V
Loved reading that! Looked fantastic. Great write up of what seemed to be an epic trip!!
So I've got two sets of wheels. Road and a track set. Recently had Sportline springs fitted but I haven't had it tracked/aligned since..
Should I take it to get tracked/aligned with my track wheels on? Will that just be ruined once I change back to my bigger road wheels?
Cheers
As said. I wouldn't change anything on the rear unless they need changing.
Brembo HC discs are only about 50 quid from George. So I would just get a set of them and some OEM pads. Or go Ferrodo if you want extra bite but it's not really needed for road use.
Sounds exactly like the issue I had mate. I had the brake pedal switch replaced and the lights haven't popped up since.. yet!
If they do return I will take a look into what Mick has written about. But for now all seems good and there are no logged fault codes.
I like the look of them a lot. Oh and the sound of course.
But I would never spend my money on one! Driven a DBS, lovely beast but felt like a RR it was so big. Just not for me.
I managed my first ever track day at Bedford on standard stuff. Don't try to be a hero or go full out and you'll be OK. Keep the sessions small and allow a cool down lap and time off track for cooling.
If you want to really push the car and do hard last minute braking then you need decent...
