I feel bad even saying it but it feels like a "proper" car, with a "proper" engine. The Frp sounded great but it was all just exhaust. The TT at least sounds like it has some meat to the engine.
Feels nice not to have to avoid every single bump in the road now! Just cruises with minimal effort...
Written that advert yet Dave? :o
Agree about buying clever in the 2nd hand market. I paid nearly less than trade for the TT, it would do megabucks at a dealer. Negates the possiblity of heavy depreciation. Infact I could have driven it home, advertised it and made £700 really for a quick sale.
Mark if you give me your reg i'll properly value your car on Glass. Cap is a little dodgy sometimes and i'll admit Glass' can sometimes read high on the retail. I'll post it up on here if you wish.
Hmm if I only needed 2 seats i'd have bought a Z4 possibly.
Cheers mate, the calipers (1 "l" ;) are proper shat! I did laugh when someone at work said they were nice! Behave, i'll probably do them silver. Although Black would mean I wouldn't actually have to worry about dirt. Should get that...
Chappers answers it quite well. Working in the repair industry you actually get to know depths of each stage also which help dramatically.
Common sense comes into play also. My Frp had a lot of paint on it because it was hand painted after the factory paint had been put on. Plenty of clear coat...
You had much use out of Tripple Dave? Good results? I think it's a great product, especially as a modern Srp product, much better!
They should make their Glaze similar without the carnauba content. Rejuvenate but a bit more glaze like, slicker and more fillers.
Thanks Ian! :)
It really has, If I was doing a long journey, couple of hundred motorway miles i'd maybe change it back, not that I think it will be droney, i'll try it soon and see. It certainly adds a little more voice to the car about town!
There is definitely horror stories about everything on the net. People quoting 5k to replace the gearbox just because the Mechatronic unit failed! Feck off! Cost a friend £750 to get his fixed and it's been fine for another 15k miles. Scaremongering. It certainly wouldn't put me off. That's what...
If you're using tough coat go with tripple mate. Lime prime can be a little fussy although via rotary it's a superb product.
Tripple on a light pad will work fine on the rotary once the pad is primed correctly. Keep at low speeds and just see how it goes. Very good product.
It's very good, as always with Hawk practice makes perfect I find. I got 155k on Warehouse last night, all about the right start through the secret room!
Votex ones aren't up to much imo. I still love the BBS style standard wheels...
f**k cleaning them though.
This car rocks but they'd probably be nicer in Silver...
Thanks for the nice comments chaps.
Agreed on the wheels. QS wheels and Eibachs are a plan. They suit Avus.
I'll need to show you it soon.
Feirny find me a pic of your mates with the QS wheels. :)
Cheers Kane it's a nice colour.
Red is awesome but there are 2 local and any for sale simply weren't worth buying.
I'm avereging about 30mpg with town driving and my work is a 2 minute drive away. A mixture of blasting and sedate driving.
In the run back from London it was doing 35mpg no problem.
Same tax, insurance and...
I don't really think it's a question that needs answered. It is what it is.
I have seen some detailing threads contain a wash and wax! That's just cleaning.
Pretty much mate. It'll protect the colour from fading and the break dust won't eat into the lacquer.
In most cases you can clean with a gentle shampoo after sealing.
Is it the fact that not many have driven a V6 TT that they instantly think it's just a posers wagon? I don't understand it.
The grip is simply insane, maybe the fact it instills so much confidence in the corners people think it's boring, personally I don't see it.
Bose, Heated Leather...
I know what you're saying Roy.
It was the right time to sell though. I changed into a newer, allround better car and pocketed a small fortune to me.
I actually thought i'd miss the Frp more than I have but I hadn't really driven it like it should be in a very long time. The TT is perfect for me.
Agreed. I'm mental.
It really does. Did 500 miles in it last Thursday and it really was a great car for it.
No chap. I don't like the new shape really apart from the RS and the S-line. The interiors are lovely though.
