Imagine being so snobby about red tools, but not rocking Hilti.... 🎣

    The new tool thread

@dann2707 @Touring_Rob the photos don't really do them justice. The first is the light, second is the strip lights I have on the ceiling and the third is both together. There's a noticeable difference with them both on. You can also fold the wings out to direct light better or just use as a...

Drop me a message this weekend and I'll get you one. They're insanely bright though. If you're into detailing they'll be ideal.

If anyone has a costco card, these are ~16 quid in store and amazing. Clicky They're unbelievably bright and amazing for showing up defects.

🤣🤣 That's the grown up equivalent of knocking on your mates door when you got a new football as a kid.

There's something about matching boxes for tools that just tickles me in a strange way.

    Power Tool Perverts

Don't say this, I was saying to @Louis the other day I'm toying with going Hilti just to add some spice to this thread 😅

I'd not get the kit Kyle linked, it's not the LXT range so you'll be limited on other tools.

You do. Any task is so much easier being able to drill hole, put in screw without f**king about.

    Power Tool Perverts

£150-200 should get you something decent that will do most home tasks. Go for any of the big brands with interchangeable batteries though so you can expand in the future if you want to.

    Power Tool Perverts

Not a power tool, but will get any tool pervert a bit moist. Just bought these, been toying with Hilti for a while so when I saw they did a set I couldn't resist. Currently have zero holes to drill, but when I do! Oooft, I can't wait.

Garage / Workshop drawers & rollcabs

Thanks all for the suggestions, so I've been mulling it over more and been to Halfords and Machine Mart today. Halfords don't really have anything and the Clarke stuff in machine mart just doesn't seem much for the money so discounted both. Spoke to someone at SGS yesterday who insisted...

FFS Dan. Just about to order this and thought I'd check here for any comments. Back to the drawer board (see what I did there)

Garage / Workshop drawers & rollcabs

Thanks all. Good shout, just had a look at the sealey stuff but they don't seem to have anything around that size and budget. Typically either cheap stuff or a bit too rich / small. I don't mind spending a bit, but there's always someone who comes along suggesting financing a £5k snap-on box...

Garage / Workshop drawers & rollcabs

I'm after some half decent garage drawers to keep bits and pieces in. Does anyone have any they recommend? As it stands it's a toss up between these; SGS US Pro No strap on please, I'm not made of money. Cheers

    Question about heating metal

It will be because of the pressure exerted on itself. To expand inwards requires it to press against itself, whilst to expand outwards will allow it to move into free space.

It's not my fault you can't figure which of your 6 fingers to push it through with.

Bought these crimpers off ebay. Definitely the best on the site. Not bad for 60 quid 🤣. First things first put a bit of tube in and pressed a hex onto it. They might actually have some use knowing they can do this.

    Decent metal drill bits

Dormer. Edit, don't ask me why, but my mate bought me this set a few years ago for helping him with something. No idea why he went so overkill but it's seen me very well for a few years now. Most expensive drill bit set known to man

    Air Tools

I have that ratchet and it's spot on. The Clarke stuff isn't bad really for the money. Starting out I'd be tempted by this Link

    Air Tools

Plasma cutter 🤣 Joking aside, air gun, spray gun, tyre inflator are all good shouts. I have a few Clarke bits from machine mart and TBF they work just fine. Air ratchet is a good shout though if you don't have one.

    Power Tool Perverts

Agreed. I think Makita have a better all round range with their garden stuff and mix of DIY and Mechanics tools but the feel of other tools seems better. I prefer Dewalts general build quality and some of the Milwaukee mechanics stuff is miles ahead of where Makita are.
