    Power Tool Perverts

Sadly not, but the guy is very well off and appears to just do some building to keep boredom at bay. Sent his wife to pick some steel up in a Porsche Cayenne 😂

    Power Tool Perverts

One of the builders I deal with has a place in the states so gets loads of Milwaukee stuff. Showed me inside his van the other day and it'd have some of you chap's f**king creaming. All Milwaukee tools, all less than 2 years old and all in the pack out cases. Looked impressive.

    Light use air compressor?

Compressors will have a Free Air Displacement (FAD) rating in cubic feet per minute (CFM). All proper ones will kick out 10 bar and be suitable for most air tools. Depending on the tools you'll want one that can cope, the tank size means you get more leeway with the FAD until it kicks in, but...

    The new tool thread

My mate does this, think he's got some form of something. But he can't see a new tool without picking it up and then playing with any moving parts or settings. Drives me f**king insane as it's like watching a child making sure he doesn't break anything.

Acquired these old cast iron slip rolls today, they weigh about at much as the sun. Made in Birmingham by G Kendrick. Other than that I've not got a clue about then. They need a good tidy up but other than that they're really nice.

    Toolbox Talk

It was about that price yeah, might have been a bit cheaper as I shopped around a bit. I know it's expensive but the way I see it is its a lifetime warranty and I bought it in my late 20's. I'm over the pain of buying it now, but that box will see me for the rest of my life. I've never...

Not got a clue yet haha. Just always fancied one and thought why not. Got it running fully on single phase now including the coolant pump and emergency stops etc so can start thinking of things to make round.

So following on from the new tool thread, show us your boxes.... I have the Teng TC Monster 01. Photos from when it was new. Still not used half the stuff in it three years on.

Them stickers are an absolute god send when looking for something. You got any pics with the drawers open? Be interested to see what comes in it.

    The new tool thread

Did you get to plan the most manly tetris ever putting the tool trays in? Took three of us an hour to do mine. Also did it come with the stickers for the front to show what's in each drawer?

Depends on your plan of attack. I've bought an amazon VFD and 5 switch control module. Cost 150 quid all in so not too bad. Reusing existing motor and have forward, reverse, start, stop and speed control all in one unit.

    The new tool thread

Got carried away on eBay and bought this last week. Picked it up Saturday and got it in the shed. Will probably put a thread up about three phase to single phase conversion once it's all sorted but well happy with it! Picture is as I moved it, I do have the tailstock, splash guard and doors etc.

Home cctv and phone apps? recommendations please!

I have had various Chinese variants and they all fail, the apps are a bit suspect and support isn't there. Although one failed after 2 years and amazon just refunded me. Currently on a hikvision DVR with HD cameras. Few bits to consider; Camera location, everyone gets caught up with "they...

    Bitcoins (and other crypto currencies)

I've just signed up for this as well, why not. It seems more like a pyramid scheme at the moment though just getting loads of people to sign up, so can't see it really being of massive value to an individual.

    Hose Reel Recommendations

A lot of them have the same size housing regardless of the hose they actually put in so a shorted hose might not actually gain much space wise. Just make sure you get one that screws direct to the wall and doesn't use a clip on bracket as they just unclip when reeling the hose in.

    VOIP office phone systems

Thanks all, only just looked back in here. Trialled gamma, 3cx, office uc, 8x8 and had RC for around 6 months on a full roll out. We've ended up with a curoip system with grandstream video phones. The system seems really good so far and the service from the provider (Rydal) has been second...

    The new tool thread

So this has been months in the making, and not exactly a tool. But finally got this installed and plumbed up yesterday. Atlas Copco Gx2FF compressor with dryer. Bought to run a hypertherm powermax 45xp plasma cutter I bought on a bit of a whim. Absolute amazing bit of kit. Now to start...

Just buy it. You never regret having the right tool for the job. Even the one time you use it you'll be glad you did. It's a principle I live by and it's not really got out of hand for me 😅

    VOIP office phone systems

I'm after a VOIP system for our offices that's based around using a physical desk phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? We're currently with ring central but the service has been terrible of late and the product is based around head-set usage and not physical phones. A big bonus would be...

    Power Tool Perverts

I'm firmly in camp Makita here. My brother is Dewalt and I must admit some of his stuff feels nicer than mine and some of the Milwaukee stuff looks good. I'm with Makita as it's the first battery I bought when 16 so just stuck with it. Got the garden range as well which is very good. PS excuse...

    Power Tool Perverts

If you're worried about the prices and your spend now, wait until you've got the batteries, charger and a couple of bits of kit. When a tool is ~100 quid body only it's easy to get carried away. Each brand has their own stand out stuff though which will be useful depending what you want...

How much do you pay for Sky/Virgin?

I have Netflix separate at 5.99, they could offer is but it was an extra 10 quid a month for a premium subscription. Well worth it if you watch on more than one screen but I don't. What amount of boxing do they actually put on sky sports? I could be tempted to call them again if it's decent...
