Then agian neither is buying a 172 over a 1.2 or diesel basic spec car. Ther eno logic in running a 172/1.6/1.4/1.2 16V/dci100 etc the 1.2 8V and dci65 are cheaper.
Its more a fun hobby you'd spend £50 on drinks on a night out say spending on the cars much the same.

Check the earth on your rear light its inside the car on the passenger side about 1 foot in from where the rear light is just below the rear seat belt. Ther always problem check your resitance etc.

The old mounts unbolt the new one boltonto the old mounts positions.
Not sure if there the same chnage them anyway.
Driveshafts are fine I'd chnage them though the vlaver ones are stronger and Renault did this for a reason.
No point trying to do it in bits realy...
Thats going to be a fortune to fix unless you get very lucky, even then £4k easy in mate rate to paint and buy the parts. More likly £7k
There asking way to much half price is much more accurate.
Unless you've done 100k hard driving then the clutch will be fine it will be a seal or somehting which has damagd the clutch so you need to fix that more importantly.
You can do it either way depends what you want to do.
Just drop the subframe on one side and pull it out though the hole you've got or take the engine out.
Engine outs easy if you intend chnaging the cambelt at the same time.
AUX belt should be chnaged when the cambelt is after all it has to come off to get to the cambelt.
72k/5 years for all phase 2 cars however if you don't have a warently I'd chnage ever 60k or 4 years.
Search round for the bulbs there DS2 I think from memory. You cna pick them up cheap.
No need to remove the light to change them if you do want to do it that was (there not much space) then you need to remove the front bumper to get at the bottom two bolts the third one holding the light in is...
