I think you've answered your own question Noah, Cobra Classics CS.
You didn't put any negatives for these ones and they keep the standard look,
but will fit harnesses and they look cool, do they tilt forwards enough for good access to the back seats?
Petty good tbh, it looks exactly the same as other peoples grills they removed to spray.
I slotted some paper in between the grill and the radiator so I didn't cover it in paint,
I did get a tiny bit of overspray at the bottom where the grill meets the bumper,
due to masking tape lifting a...
I was under the car today and noticed that the exhaust clamp that secures the back box to the centre section
was severely rusted with holes in it, basically it looks like a lace doily.
Will this ECP one be alright as a replacement...
Ah right'o cheers mate, i'll leave it untill the dash needs to come off for something in the future, probably white dials.
But i'm a very lazy man, so I think i'll blank it for the time being. ;)
Torx screwdrivers, i'm off to buy some tomorrow as loads of the Mk2 interior is screwed in with them.
I'm in the process of spraying loads of bits, but the grab handles and electric mirror/door handles are torx screws.
Flat head screwdrivers will undo some of them, but they're all different...
I've searched loads but other than removing the whole dash and masking it up,
I can't seem to find a thread or any guides on how to remove the centre console surround for spraying.
The bit around the clock and vents, anyone know how to do this or am I just sh*t at searching?
Masked the front of the car up and sprayed the grill with some satin black.
I did try taking it off the other week but failed, so I took the lazy man option instead. :approve:
Some of the best handling cars money can buy and they still can't go round corners.
Ironic seeing as their favorite motorsport is NASCAR, which is essentially one giant corner. :S
I remember a piece on wheeler dealers about adjusting carbs from that series I think,
I can't remember if it was the Mini or a different car.
Edd took apart the carbs and showed that there's an adjuster on some kind of hollow needle that 'injects' the fuel.
(I say injects, as i'm aware carbs...
I like that you've got your knowledge from wheeler dealers, I watched those two episodes and got quite excited when
Edd said that they're easy to work on and great little project cars.
It sounds like you've got the same amount of general mechanical knowledge as me,
so that gives me hope. :D...
I've been looking just out of curiosity and there are some shockers out there called 'restoration projects',
that as far as I can tell are just made out of rust. :S
Foot wells and boots rusted through, doors like lace doilies,
I wouldn't think a car like that is good for anything other than...
All i've been thinking of since you started this thread is buying a Mini,
or at the very least a 1300 Mini engine to tear down and rebuild, then at some point a rolling chasis to put it in.
Not that I have any money at all for it and the Clio needs all the belts changing
so that's all of my...
