Lol I don’t think I will mate tbh. Nothing appeals, and I just don’t have the time as proven with the AG. Gearboxes will still be rebuilt, but I can’t say for how long.
Garage is getting converted mate, so no space!
Yeah I think I’m done with trackdays and stuff now tbh mate. It’s genuinely upset me saying goodbye to FKU, but it was the right thing to do.
What’s next? Not sure mate. Not even sure that my head or hearts in it anymore tbf. I’ll be banging the mperformance kit on the 30d, but that’s about it...
Well you won’t find one in better condition than that one mate, I can guarantee you that 100%.
Gearboxes ain’t that bad. I’ve also found better synchro rings for them.
Well I’ve just said goodbye to MK11 FKU. I’m going to miss that car massively, but only covering 1200 miles in my ownership, and not using it since FCS last year, meant it was the right thing to do. It’s going to a good home and will be staying on the forum, so there’s one good thing!
I can’t remember where I got the v36 from tbh mate, but i think it was from clean your car. They also do the pads from memory.
The beauty of v36 is that it cuts and also polishes, so no requirement for a follow up finishing compound or pad. From my experience of this, they’re not wrong either...
Chemical guys v36 and an orange pad hex logic pad. That’s all you’ll ever need! Lol! It just works.
I’ve got the af kit and wasn’t that impressed with it tbh.
Buy a kit, fit it to your car and drive it. I guarantee you 100% you’d notice the difference immediately. It’s one of those strange sensations that until you’ve experienced it, it’s hard to describe.
Roll centre makes the steering response improved and also has a dramatic effect on the handling. The diff isn’t as noticeable until you put the power down out of a junction/bend etc.
Various ways to fit the oil cooler.
Fit it on its end and vertical in front of the alternator.
Lay it down flat so it’s face down with the tarmac and duct it accordingly. Look at the setup on an F80 M3 if you’re not sure what I’m on about.
Mount it behind the bumper and make various holes to...
The best engine flush is diesel. Seen it used on plenty of engines without issue. Just drop the oil and refill with diesel. Run the engine up for 5 minutes, then drain it off.
As diesel is also a lubricant, there are no issues with seals and bearings.
ANYTHING can be adapted to fit/work if you’ve got the knowledge/expertise/money to do it.
Those hubs are only a small part of why that chassis handles the way it does though. It’s not just a simple case of getting them in there, then it’ll handle the same way as a mk3 Clio/meg.
There aren’t any upgrades to do I’m afraid. I sorted out some improved synchros a few years back, but there wasn’t enough interest to warrant continuing with them.
I’d be confident that they were mate yes. That’s why when I looked at making some universal 280/300 brackets, we were going to have them hard anodised.
