It's a shame you didn't mention the hubs sooner as I've just done another gb for them, and they're nearly ready to collect. Would've been ideal otherwise.
Just build the 197 engine into the 172 block mate if you wanted to keep the reliability side of things regards the shafts. That's what I've done with mine, albeit a tad more extreme over the standard setup. Lol!
I'll be honest though, I've never seen a shaft on one of these or a 197 snap!
I'd...
I've got gen90 pin out diagrams and wiring diagrams. I have the gen90 stuff in my personal email, but the wiring diagrams are on my work email and I won't have access to them until Sunday night.
Ping me your email and I'll fire the gen90 stuff over.
It's high but not mega high mate. The early ones were the ones prone to the issue with the clutch bearing/basket dramas. Top end was chocolate cams!
Mainly the racers that suffered the catastrophic failures though.
Anyway - we divulge. Apologies @rich83
Tbh mate I like to set my car up not to slide around from the suspension stiffness as mines still road going. The 475's on the back atm aren't anywhere near horrendous on the road either, but having some compliance is better than none from experience. If I do swap them out though I'll definitely...
Yeah always more to get out of the FF's mate.
My bearings failed, so I replaced them with snr bearings (oe fitment) and they'd failed after 25 miles max!! That's when the big bearing conversion was decided on.
Best way! Weight saving as well! Ha ha!
Yeah I need to go up to 90's on the front of mine, but I'll be dropping the rears to 80's I think. Possibly, not fully decided yet!
Cmc doors are awesome mate! You'll not need to do anything to them other than get them prepped and painted.
I've not fitted any but I had a pair at one time, but I know a few lads that have them fitted to race cars. No fitting issues whatsoever.
Yeah I know this feeling very well mate hence the S1000RR interest - with 192bhp and 204kgs, I don't think there's many requirements for hp increases! Lol!
I took over 130kgs out of my cup, so yeah it can all soon add up!
The rears are mainly for reliability mate tbh. It's a bigger bearing conversion as the standard size rears are shite.
Maxi evo has different inlet valves only, going off the part numbers I've got, but I'd imagine that they fettled the head to get the most from it.
If your going itbs and doing away with the standard inlet you should see the 230/240hp your wanting mate, but obviously the standard inlet will...
Inlet ports are huge, as you've probably seen for yourself. Exhaust ports are the same size as a 182 head - small, but when my head was done we didn't open them up by a massive amount as its not needed. The standard valve sizes will flow enough for 230-240 as well, so unless you like spending...
Yeah it soon all adds up mate!
Yep that's what I'm led to believe too regards the pads.
The rears are standard, but not......lol! Nice little custom conversion on those! Ds2500's at the back too.
Mine are off a Meg 225, but they're also the same as a 197/200. I have no experience with the brembos mate in terms of braking performance, but I've been in @Cub.'s car with them fitted and they were very impressive.
I'm also going with a custom 295x28 disc on a rotor and bell setup.
Totally agree mate. Mine drives no different on the 15's to the 16's either, or at least I can't feel it.
My reasons for going 16" all round though was based on using a shorter 5th gear, so the 16's will alter the gearing slightly over the 15's to drop the rpm. Even if it's only 100 rpm.
The...
