Tbh for the sake of £20 I'm gonna order a set. Seems more than a degree of camber I reckon as it's given me a fair bit more road noise.
I really need the whole lot properly set up, corner weighted and done properly when time and money dictate at the end of the month!
Will I need camber bolts for adjustment or is there camber adjustment as standard? Car is currently running way too much camber I think so wanting to dial a bit out tbh!
Running gaz coilovers if that makes a difference, buy no camber bolts
All change. before anyone says reverse rake, I know it needs adjusting plus it's on a hill, but all in good time :)
All I know is that I love how it looks now, and all it needs is exhaust and seats to look awesome :)
By the sounds of things I reckon it's the horrifically weak offset of the standard wheels as f1s and turinis are 43 or less so have best part of 6mm clearance more than these ones.
New wheels are 37 I think so should clear by miles!
Hi all,
Just in the process of fitting the new coilovers to the 172.
Gone for GAZ adjustables and the adjuster ring on the front is catching the inside of the wheel! Anyone encountered this issue? Or are standard 172 wheels just a gay offset?
Hold on. I've owned 4, sold the first at a profit, broke the 2nd and then sold the third for profit
It's a common misconception I break loads of clios!
Took the car out for its first proper drive last night, and remembered what enjoy so much about these little cars :D
coilovers have been collected. Airbox and rear brakes should be with me in the next few days, and the weight loss has started. Also in the process of sorting out new wheels, so...
Nickson - I will indeed
Evil giraffe - just so happens I have full cup running gear sat in the garage. And for as cheap as it was thats why I went for it! £1300 ain't bad!
So today I picked up my fourth and hopefully last 172. Monaco blue with 68k and full history.
Car is in good condition mechanically and cosmetically which is nice, plus it was fairly cheap!
So to the plans.
Coilovers - bought and fitting next week
Seats- not sure what yet but buckets of some...
yeah i work 6 days a week so as much forewarning would be awesome Tim. Always wanted to drive thruxton but not sure on whether it'd work out a fair bit cheaper for a large group and standard prices are a little high
Yeah project thread will be up tomorrow, and coilovers will be on hopefully by next week. Just need rid of those hideous standard wheels and put it on a diet!
my 888s lasted 3 track days and 5k miles and still had a tad left, so they do wear very well fletch.
having done brands before i found the clios are good for all but the main straight, where the more powerful stuff will have the edge coming into paddock hill, and again a tiny bit up towards the...
as above really,
if a car has xenons as standard (ph2 172/182) is it an easy job to remove them? as in in the wiring loom completely different or is there a point at which you can just unplug the xenon side of things?
obviously i know i'd need pov spec headlights and bulbs, and also washer...
