    Engine Bay Temps

Yes mate. I'd focus more on where the exhaust manifold is tbh and I'd do the same on the front seal. On mine I have no skins so the added airflow helps no end in getting air into the v6 airbox.

    Engine Bay Temps

You could take the rear bonnet seal out, but I'd leave it in place where the heater air inlet vents are!! Otherwise you end up with warm air coming in through the vents. It's only a matter of trimming it to suit.

    172 Ph1 Turbo High Idle

Your sure it's not the throttle body sticking? Is it on a lpt conversion as well? So standard pistons? Only asking as oil out the breather isn't a good sign on these engines.

    Oversize valves options

422's and 423's are more suited to high comp. I'm not saying 421's won't work because they will and do, but if your going to the expense of bigger valves you might as well maximise everything else and put another set of cams in there. Otherwise stick with standard sized valves as the performance...

    Oversize valves options

If I were you I'd be getting the supertech valves going off the spec of your engine mate. They're available off the shelf too. I'd switch to 422's or 423's as well.

    JMS RS2 Extra?

Honestly mate you'll never tell the difference with parallel extensions going on to the tapered lower half of the manifold
  14. NorthloopCup

    JMS RS2 Extra?

Depends how much of a taper it needs. I'd use a carbide burr in a die grinder or high speed drill and open it out. I'd go about 50-70% of the way up the extension and keep checking your not taking too much out with a internal caliper. Then I'd use an 80 grit sanding drum to finish off the...

    Fuel gauge on its own

Your better off fitting a stack dash or a dash2 mate. Reason being, you can have as many gauges as a fighter plane, but how often do you look at them when your racing? I'll answer for you, once, maybe even twice! Single gauges only work if you have warning lights to alert you of an issue. I...

Ph1 172 Track Car. Next Year I Go Racing - Hopefully!

It's warm white your after mate if you don't want them too intense. A lot of the ones you can get look more like hid lights which is ideal for a living space. Not!! Lol

Ph1 172 Track Car. Next Year I Go Racing - Hopefully!

I've got 9 led mains voltage downlighters in my kitchen sonny, and fk me they're bright!! As said by @Mini182 they're really good. I'll be getting some more for my garage soon

"NEO" 172 Cup Rally project with shiny bits on!

Yeah toe in wouldn't have been helping. You also need stiffness at the rear for track work, but that goes against everything you need for rallying/road rallying.

"NEO" 172 Cup Rally project with shiny bits on!

1/2 a degree toe in at the rear isn't causing your turn in problems I'm afraid mate. It's more the suspension that's doing that. What's the spring rates you've got on it? Also how low is it, as the roll centres play a big part in getting them to turn in.

Get ready for a tail happy cup if you run parallel at the rear mate.

    Steering Rack Width?

Flol! I'm filling it full of unicorn semen. It's apparently good for reducing friction and works better than Teflon. Not sure on the texture though - it's a bit gloopy. :tongueclosed:

I've not forgotten to have a measure up mate. Just been flat out at work which is where the steering rack is! @CamMoreRon

Beat cam kit to go with jms rs2??

Have a look at some of the plenums on reveries website. That'll give you an idea of the sizes and volumes.
  24. NorthloopCup

Beat cam kit to go with jms rs2??

The plenum cover sides are physically to close to the bell mouths mate, so a spacer wouldn't improve things in that respect.

    K tec Wilwood pads advice

Try ferodo ds11.1. They've had great reviews on here. @G 172 is a trader on here who will be able to supply the pads. He may also have some alternative suggestions on pad compounds to try.

Beat cam kit to go with jms rs2??

In my opinion yes. Having owned one and taken it apart you can see where the compromises are in the design. Don't get me wrong I'm not slating the rs2 as I genuinely think it does good things for the f4r as its optimised for the standard engine and the engine bay of the Clio, but I think an...

Beat cam kit to go with jms rs2??

Ok so now I'm confused! Lol! Thought you'd posted earlier that mikes made 149lb/ft on 438's and itbs? I imagine the reason he couldn't get past was due to the torque delivery of the rs2. If they had more plenum volume and more space around the bell mouths they'd make a very interesting...
