and so long as its only valve damage this is a viable option, if the guides/seats are damaged however its not economical to rebuild. considering the cost of a second hand head
possible, but check the belt first. either way the problem needs to be found, cos when the aux belt fails its got a nasty habit of taking the timing belt with it :(

my aux belt idler was rough, so i changed that £40 odd from reno, not bad considering i called them as soon as i found it and told 'em it was urgent and they delivered it an hour or so later!
i did mine on friday. one of my collegues timed me - just over 4 and a half hours :D
the aux belt is the only awkward bit, i used a tank drill to make a hole so i could easily get to the aux tensioner. i rekon this saved me loads of time and knuckles! just welded the peice back in after. the...

-aux belt fails dramatically, gets stuck behind crank pulley, and 'cos the timing belt lower cover does not go between the crank pulley and sprocket the aux belt fouls the timing belt and pulls it off
