have you got a spare key? does your keyring identify you, if it does id block the car in (so no-one can take it) till you get new keys from reno (theyre a nice price too!)
doh! if its under warranty, just chuck it at reno. take the 1.2 courtesy car and have done. the fact that kwik sh*t did a oil change is neither here nor there! just make sure they dont try to say the leak is too minor to be fixed at this time! (a common get out).
182blue, see if the rocker/cam carrier bolts , (wichever it is on a 182), are loose. try pinching them up a little. say 1/4turn? see how they feel! this would probably cure a minor leak! and save you a fortune! just dont overtighten them!
i know of an idiot who bought a ferrari 355, one week later he came off a roundabout and took out 4 lamposts! he claimed he was travelling at 20mph and hit a patch of diesel! draw you own conclusions;)
i dont think its a big plush car thing exclusively, its more of an attiitude thing. its just these people are more inclined to buy large vehicles!
and then AIM them down the road, whereas the rest of us prefer to DRIVE!
i wasnt getting at bmws, but now you mention it, bmws are either driven down the mway at silly speeds and tailgating, or holding everyone up on a roads, and dont even get me started on x5 drivers!;)
i get the exact same thing! i have to travel to work at bout 6.30am and i think im the only one awake! i overtake the same cars in the same places every day. including the bmw 535i that drives at 35mph in a 60 limit and slams on his brakes everytime a car comes the other way! but if im a bit...
no rain sensors on the mk1, why do you need em anyway, dont you know when its raining?;)
whats next?
alcahol sensing ignition key?
accident sensing brakes?
mother in law sensing phone?
sorry! i didnt read all of the thread (again). whereabouts in the country are you, i could modify your ramps to suit if your nearby (northants)?
easy job, just cut, shut&weld back together, did mine the other day. to fit under my lowered 172
it will go on flatbed trucks backwards, or if it need spec (spectacle) lift it goes on thoes backwards also, it should always be a full lift or rear suspend tow anyway cos of its rr setup!
nah, shouldnt be on the belt, it seems to run down the back of the belt cover and on to the exhaust, well it did on my mates car anyway.
we sorted the leak an he rolled it the next weekend!
hi if you 172 is a mk1 the inlet manifold gasket part no. is 7700114203 and is bout £3.50, you also need the rubber o ring for the pcv at the base of the manifold bout £1.50, the rocker gasket is rubber. you may find the rocker gasket is leaking nr. the timing belt cover. but there are other...
i totally agree on construction and use! i think the japs have it bought right. their emissions laws are so strict, most cars over there are scrap by the time theyre 5 or 6 years old! but then they get shipped over here as grey imports where they find a new lease of life!
by the way, im in...
i know that this will annoy some, but the MOT test is there for several very good reasons, and the uk MOT test is very sub standard for cars compared to that of commercial vehicles. i am a commercial/pcv fitter and i can tell you that these vehicles can have to pass a mot test so strict it would...
overtaking on unbroken white lines, 90 on the m way & failing to observe a stop sign. learnt my lesson now though, 10 years on and ive had a clean license for 6 years now
getting caught is the crime :devilish:
