Both adjusted mate. Inlet is advanced and exhaust is retarded. And getting hold of the full grp n tool is nigh on impossible! I struck lucky and I was considering getting some reproduced as well.
Yes mate. All a grp n engine is in reality is a standard engine that's had the tolerances machined/adjusted to the closest/best they can be. Ie: the cams in a grp n car will have been ground as close to tolerance as possible, and gain maybe a few thou lift. Not much granted, but in terms of...
That's why renault knocked the exhaust cam back a touch, to keep them alive at the top end. That's on the full grp n settings of course.
When mines alive again I will be able to give a report back as to how much it holds on as I've got the full grp n tool and the grp n ecu to match. Assuming...
Speedo drive on the gearbox is more than likely up the swanny mate to cause the speedo fault. Easy enough to replace though.
Your reverse light fault could be the switch on the gearbox, a wiring fault or a uch fault. Not 100% certain that the uch has any involvement in the reverse lights...
The biggest expense involved in the Quaife, in fact any diff for the 1*2's, is because the diff has to be machined up from a larger piece of steel. The frenchies design ain't the best either tbh, but that comes as very little surprise! Lol
Well the offer is there for anyone who wants to bring theirs to me! Providing it's easily accessible (preferably dash out) I'll happily do it.
No worries mate, glad to have advised/helped you with yours! Have you tried your obd port to make sure it communicates with the engine management and...
Lol! Tbf, I could actually do this as a 'while you wait' service! If the loom was fully accesible I'd say it would take no longer than 2-3 hours. That includes taping it all up again and making it tidy.
Glad you got on ok with yours this time around mate.
You have to remove the rear bumper to get the insert out mate, or at least that's what I had to do. It's secured with some plastic weld/heated and melted plastic. Easy enough to do though. I tried to lever mine out but it was marking the insert/bumper.
Yep I've had mine do this as well! Happened on the way to the ring and my mate who was riding shotgun said, "wtf's knocking? It doesn't sound good", I replied with stop being a paranoid homosexual!! Only to look a right bell end when I stopped for fuel and had a quick check!!! Lol! In my defence...
It's a shame none of you guys live closer to me, otherwise I'd have done your looms for you. I've stripped mine back and removed all unwanted wiring/components. The obd port was retained and I can still access everything via that.
Cv boots are available from Renault. That's where I got mine from after being told "you need a complete driveshaft mate, they're x amount of £'s". I think my reply of you can f**k right off was possibly not appreciated! Lol
There are 3 different inner boots listed as well FYI, and it comes up...
A bit of toe out on the rear helps with turn in on a Clio. I've run it on mine, but currently running a small amount of toe in. Have to keep it safe for when my wife drives the car on track!
You'll only have big handling issues if you put a lot of toe out on the rear as well. Iirc mine was set...
I have the Yanoo stiff shift installed in my car. It took me about 2hrs to install, and that included putting the car up in the air on axle stands.
The worst bit of the entire job was removing the heatshield around the exhaust to gain access to the nuts that hold the gear lever and surround in...
Well they are the tyres that got me around the nurburgring in 8:39 mate, so yes I rate them! In fact massively over the t1r's as I've had both. T1r's overheat really quickly on track - even at 7/10ths. The hankooks hold on a bit better and cope admirably well in the wet too.
Yeah rubbings caused by the spacers mate as even at the ride height it's at now you'd get a small rub, but that was only on track at high cornering speeds.
I'll be on 15" turinis soon wrapped in 205/50 15 so I'll see if/how much it rubs on them and adjust it as required. I still run arch liners...
I run with 2.5 degrees negative camber, and as it is at the minute ridiculously low! Lol! It's on 195/45 16 hankook s1 evo's and I'm running 20mm spacers. I get rubbing on the usual culprit - the metal bracket in the front arches for the wing.
