    Cup racer suspension owners questions please

    Laguna shaft used on n/s which is 700mm long opposed to the 660 of the original cup one. For the drivers side shaft I spaced the cv joint 5mm off the back of the hubs as well but you need to modify the original hub nuts. If you wanted to you can put a spacer on the g/box where the o/s shaft goes...

    Cup racer suspension owners questions please

    Drivers side shaft copes with the extra track width admirably well. It's the n/s that throws a wobbler. I know - I've done it.

    Poly windows and fibreglass boot

    They were weighed on scales mate and no, the weights are just the glass.

    Poly windows and fibreglass boot

    The screen is only different because it doesn't have the rain sensors on for the auto wipers. The front door glass on the cup is allegedly thinner, but I'm not entirely sure I believe a word of it. It's a lot of effort for a pretty insignificant gain.

    Manual window and mirror conversion

    I think there's about 2-2.5 kgs in the electric motors for the windows (been a long time since I stripped mine and weighed EVERYTHING), but it won't be too far off as an estimate. As for the mirrors I'm not entirely sure it's worth the effort for saving possibly 1/2 a kg. I just removed the...

    Odyssey/Varley battery

    Odyssey/Varley battery

    I would imagine so mate. Mine gets drained (slightly) by the alarm, but its never been enough that it won't start or struggles to start.

    Odyssey/Varley battery

    Mine is fine (redtop 25) and when it's not in use its plugged into a c-tek battery conditioner.

    probably a stupid question. Drive-shafts.

    I would imagine so mate! Can't think of any reason why they would be different.

    And the rest Nick!! This bit of kit was actually on my hit list though a while ago. Engine spec has been 'calmed' now though.

    RS2 inlet on 197

    A standard 197 inlet will see 230hp anyway if you spec the engine correctly. I know this. ;) Also, converting a 172 manifold to fit on a 197 or vice versa is a hideous job. I've done the 197 inlet on to a 172 head and I know how far out the ports are. The only real way to do it properly is to...

    My Cup

    Hello, no not even looked at it tbh. I dropped on to some choice bits and pieces for the engine which means its going down the high comp screamer route now. I don't have a build thread either I'm afraid.

    * Picture Request - 15" Turinis *

    6.5j - ideal width for 205/50's as well. I agree though, they look so much better than 2118's!

    * Picture Request - 15" Turinis *

    Thats what mine are - et35. Yeah they're lighter than 2118's as well. The 16" turinis are lighter than the 15' 2118's iirc.
