    Do you know Tom Baxter????????

Cr33do and Meek_Racing's track car project

There are a few out there but its just so much work to get it to fit that not many would bother with it. Easier to fit the 197 inlet and head on to the 172 block then turbo it tbh! Or you could always use the 197 pistons in the block to get the compression ratio back up.....................but...

Cr33do and Meek_Racing's track car project

What flow bench do you use mate? Also whereabouts are you based? I'd be interested in bringing the modified head of mine along with inlet to be tested if your not far away.

Cr33do and Meek_Racing's track car project

Yes mate a lot of headwork has been carried out. There's a lot of work involved just in getting the ports to match up. It looks like it should offer a decent performance increase if combined with cams and raised compression though.

Cr33do and Meek_Racing's track car project

Nice work with the flow bench testing!! I'll be having my head with the 197 inlet flow bench tested soon so it will be nice to have the graphs you posted as a comparison.

    172 Non-Stealth exhausts?

Its a heavy old thing though for what it is mind. It pops and bangs with a decat though still. Lol!

    Race fuel cell

Untitled by NorthloopCup, on Flickr Is this the sort of thing your looking at doing? There's the thick end of 1k in that set-up.

    Prospeed exhaust

Very! I've got one on my road going cup and it's recessed into the bumper. Build quality and fit is excellent and they used flanges to join the centre section to the back box which I prefer to the slide over joins. Not very noisy on a long journey and at 70-80 on the motorway you hardly notice it.

    172 Non-Stealth exhausts?

I've got a prospeed recessed system on my road car and a btb stealth on the track car. Prospeed system is excellent and not to noisy. The btb could easily have the tailpipe cut off and a straight one welded on to it so it can be recessed + it's 2.5". Not noisy or boomy in my opinion either. Just...

    Tracking/Alignment problem?

I'd get the alignment checked if I were you mate. I would almost say 100% that the tracking is out. Half a millimetre here and there will make all the difference, and inevitably put things out of tolerance. If you've fitted lowering springs the tracking will almost certainly be out.

    Rear tyre wear on track

The rear toe will need adjusting even if the car is lowered tbh. The rear beam is designed to work at the ride height specified by the Renault engineers so with lowering the car plus increasing the camber will increase the variation by a greater amount. I adjusted my rear tracking to get it back...

    securing spare wheel on cup

Oh. Mine just sits in the wheel well unsecured. Not very safe though in a stripped out car. You could always buy a boot net from Renault to sit over the top of it?

    The Nurburgring thread

The dead body your referring to is actually just a bag of clothes mate. The occupant was thrown over the armco.

The fit of that coilpack bracket is shocking!! I'd be sending it back tbh.

Lol! I'd best get busy with the fizzy then and get it sorted!!

Turn the wheel upside down mate and put the toolkit in the middle again. Should secure down again then.

    Write off and MOT questions

Right, the car needs a mot on it regardless as the original is invalid. To drive the car for a vic check you need a valid mot and the car needs to be insured. You are allowed to drive it for a vic check without it being taxed but it must go to the vosa station and then back home once the check...

    197/200 6 speed gearbox fitting into a 1*2 - works

He's probably looking at using the 6 speed so he can get a dog engagement gear kit to fit inside the original 197 casing. Assuming they're available, which i'm 99.9% sure they are. The 6 speed box does fit but you need to change the sump as stated.

    Plastic windows?

I weighed each piece of glass that was removed from my cup and also the plastic windows before they were fitted. Fronts 2kg each opposed to 3.5kg in glass Rear quarters are 1.5kg each opposed to 3.5kg in glass The rear screen is approximately 3kg opposed to 7.5! The plastic was...

    Kenny's Kup

^^^ Agree on how flimsy the original seat mountings are. I used a seat rail kit and removed the original mounts. Once welded in i'd say they're definitely stronger than original. I would imagine that the originals are designed to dissipate the energy in a side impact?

Lol! Yes mate they are Turini's. I'll have to start a thread up in clio media!

    HELP!! What bucket seats!?!

Got to agree on the pole positions tbh! I drive to the Nurburgring from the midlands in mine and they are very comfy! They hold you in really well too.

^^^ cheers! They aren't Kawasaki green they're porsche gt3rs green. Yeah got a few more pictures of the car knocking about somewhere. I'll have a look.

    Plastic windows?

Cheers! Not had any leakage issues at all with them but they are slightly noisier than glass. Nothing terrible though. It's actually quite civilised when your sat on the motorway @ 70-80mph for saying it's fully stripped of carpets and sound deadening! Lol

    Washer Jets Trickling...

The wiper spindles are on a taper anyway so the wd40 struggles to penetrate properly. I've seen one removed by using a air hammer on the end of the spindle! Rough as you like, but it came off without damaging a single thing! Lol

    Washer Jets Trickling...

Yeah fair point. The method i've said about has been by far the easiest one i've found anyway.
  28. NorthloopCup

    Washer Jets Trickling...

To get the wiper arms off the easy way, Remove the nut holding it to the spindle, Turn it upside down so the flange/washer is facing upwards, Put some vice grips on so your squashing the nut and arm together (make sense?) Then tighten up vice grips and squeeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be warned though...
