The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread

Was bored waiting for Scrooge to turn up this evening... [wow that's ridiculously blurry... stupid phone pic]

    Heeey, I have a clio! ;)

The side strips just pop out .. front needs sliding from front to back about 20mm and then it'll be free.. the rear one is the opposite. Badge just clips out of that.
  3. TheEvilGiraffe

    Heeey, I have a clio! ;)

Take it off and replace it with another badge that says '1.2' .. Why bother !?

    Wiring kit

    You'll need a subwoofer wiring kit ;)
  5. TheEvilGiraffe

    Heeey, I have a clio! ;)

Use them as driving lights ?! What are you on about... If you want your lights on, leave them on. Front fogs should be outlawed as 99.99999% of use is mis-use, as above.

172 engine won't start! Fuel pump not running.

Ph1 ? Whack the big red inertia / fuel cut off switch by the battery !!

    Bangtidy !! Looks ace.

    It's a bad day.

7k a year on insurance ?! Do you live in Basra ? Why do people buy Clios for first cars !? The stats are hilariously not in your favour as a yoof as the 10 threads a week on "my mortgage company won't give me enough money to pay for my car insurance".

    Tyre recommendations

Thousands of threads.. have a search. Hankook V12 for me though.

    new wheels

I can tell it's been lowered but they just look like toy wheels. I've just upped the profile from 40 to 45 on my 17s as they looked like coasters !

    new wheels

Are they 16s or 17s ? Get some fatter profile tyres !
  12. TheEvilGiraffe

    Heeey, I have a clio! ;)

Those alloys look utterly horrific. Speak to your insurance about getting alloys before you buy anything ! Just leave it alone.. concentrate on not becoming a statistic !!

    new wheels

They look like toy wheels... :S Needs lowering by about 3ft and it might pull it off.

    Lowering

Wut ? :S Lowering springs on standard (old) shocks normally leads to problems as the stock shock isn't designed to work at that height. £1000 of coilies aren't going to be crashy, harsh and give a bad quality ride. £200 ones slammed to the deck however, might not be the smoothest ride in...

    Lightening strike.

Whups (he said rolling the chair back slowly to find out what his iMac is plugged into) :o .. mine's on a chunky surge protector beasty !

    How do you use yours??

    7. Clean inside, outside is polished and sealed so that'll do 'til winter. Don't go to shows, always sideways in the snow, bikes on the roof, stuff in the boot. Comfy cruiser and angry rally car when needed.

    Re map

The timing 'could' be out if it feels slow compared to other RS Clios !? Is it completely standard ? When were the belts last done ? How many miles and how old's the car ? These things do have more of a kick between 5 and 7k. Max power should be around 6.6k... My old one felt awful...

Anyone own this or know who does?

Recognise the plate... Nick_P's old one maybe ?!

    Lightening strike.

Ooft. Happened to my Grandad's place a few years back. He was out, came home and felt the static buzz in the house, obviously had no idea what happened. Neighbour said there was a huge white ball like you describe.. blew him off his chair !! Fried most electrical stuff in his house...

    197 with 235bhp

So, he's going to get to work on a smile ? The automotive industry is going to fall over tomorrow if that's all it takes to get places as easily as it does in a car... It's well looked after but actually he hasn't really got a clue what's been done to it ? Too much to list ? Really ?! No...

Did I get by my local garage??

What's their hourly rate ? If it's £60 an hour, then you've not done bad. If it's £15, then you need to wonder what they were doing ! Didn't you get a quote before hand..?

    Towing a Clio!

Surely the intelligent will have left the solid towing eye in the boot for such an occasion ? Or are the daft TRS ones a socket-set job to install ?!

    Best heavy cutting compound/pad combo

Fair enough ! Well I used an old slightly knackered polishing pad (white Sonus or Menz, I can't remember) with some of this 3M stuff and got rather impressive results, doing everything wrong/fast/billybufferspecial on the OH's old PoS Polo she was selling.. to the following in one...

    Best heavy cutting compound/pad combo

Have you attacked it with what you've already got ?! Give it a go, you might be surprised.. couple of hits, and a bit of filling from black hole/amigo and you might be there. If it's really bad, step up to the green 3M pad perhaps ? I'm sure there'll be some experts along soon to tell...
