convenient thread.
I just replaced my mid section today. took out the cat and there was no silencer there in the first place ;)
will get pics/vid up in a bit
i pay just under a grand (tpft) for my valver. thats at 20, license for 1 year and 0ncb (still tied up in my old policy on my RT due to a hit and run :(). Mods declared obv.
when i had mine primed, they looked spot on in white! just not sure if i like the thought of keeping em clean! :(
now i have a 449 valver, am tempted to spray em williams gold ;). Or maybe rethink white. need to see some in the flesh
i had the pleasure of being taken for a spin in it a few weekend ago. you've got yourself a real quick car there mate! :)
there was also a pikey nearby with a modded scooby.. but he declined a race ;)
oh, and it certainly does have the brakes to match! :D
just to confirm.. the cat is the box just after the down pipe... about a third of the way along the car?
i can see one plug there.. but it seems fine :(
After my issue yesterday with my rocker cover gasket failing, I seemed to have developed a nasty rattle!
it happens when the engine hits about 2k rpm, under load or not. its perfectly fine until then.
here is a recording of the rattle. (you can hear it at about 4s and again at 6s+)
It sounds...

ok... i took the spark plugs out now :o
turned it over, a few streams of oil went about 40ft in the air.
put the spark plugs back in. ran it for a bit. loads of blue smoke for about 10mins where the oil had gotten in i think.
then its fine. checked around the spark plug area again and its...
you can just about make out the oil by the reflection at the bottom...
oh, it was also clean when i took the cover off.. thats just oil spillage from the RAC man
oh.. thats not good then! would that be the gasket being majorly gone? or something else? :(
i'll have to see how much i syringe out! Im going to take a ruler or something to see how deep it is! :(
edit: stuck the dipstick in each.. and there is about 1.5-2" deep of oil!
trying to find a syringe to get the oil out.
will have to pop along to renault on monday for a new gasket.
*hopefully* it'll be alright
there isnt a lot in the cores. a bit of oil at the bottom really (about an inch deep perhaps?)
ok, just tried to turn it over with the spark plugs out. nothing happened. the engine turns over ok but nothing came out of the cores....
Could i put loads of paper towels or something in to try and absorb the oil?
also, if i drain it and just oil goes back in, it means its the gasket?
