Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
The 172 flywheel is a 60-2 Bosch setup. The setup for an OMEX is 2 teeth missing, MX Sync Test 57, MX time 50%.
fOxy, look at it this way. it has already got a tooth (or 2 in fact) missing. they are just the opposite way round and raised (or filled in)...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
iirc that's classed as missing tooth. I'll look at my omex manual tonight and confirm for you, i have it written down on it.
I don't think they are any stronger, as the diesels don't put out any more torque than a 172, however a cup gearbox is quite rare and the other jc5 boxes are more availiable. I was looking at clio, megane etc anything with a jc5. Just need to find more info eg ratios
does this mean i could use any jc5 box, including diesels, i know the ratios are different.
Does anyone know what the numbers relate to? Eg 129, 109,089 etc
How slow do you drive on a trackday? I can get my cooler hot enough not to touch, 1 lap after warm-up! Also do you happen to know the spec of the engine you are commenting on? believe me, it needs an oil cooler.
I'd put it down to f0xy's being lighter for the straights and you being more committed in the corners, lets face it, you were catching me and i have 50 ish more bhp!
Thanks, it was good to abuse it for what it was made for. Cadwell park a week today!
there was no cylinders hidden in the boot of those cars, they were just lying on the back seats!
It was spread over the weekend, my car is looked after well (it's far from standard) and if it couldn't take the punishment, i'd have to get something different. the drag racing is probably the hardest on a car, burnouts once spinning aren't too bad, if you stay off the limiter and keep an eye...
