Not sure if i saw you go up the strip, but the majority of the lesser modified/standard cars, were doing a burnout, but only spinning 1 wheel, usually the passenger side, then when at the start line was spinning the otherside!
I now have coilovers fitted and it improved my burnout no end as i...
thing is, i'm getting some seats and harnesses in the near future and i'd like 5 point ones, for the crutch anti submarining strap, but i don't want it to fail an mot because of them not being dot approved! and also the dot ones you have to thread your arms through too
I think it depends on the tester, but legally they have to be dot approved, can also invalidate insurance, however Whiteley has told his insurer of his non-dot but FIA harnesses and they are fine with it!
So as far as that goes, DOT to be totally legal, but no-one gives a crap anyway !
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Personally, i'd say there wouldn't be a damn site of difference between the g/boxes. Yes i agree the valver box will allow the engine to rev up quicker and hence accellerate quicker, however the g/box is shorter so you'd have to change gear more often...
i'll try and explain this as best i can! When you pull away the doors usually lock themselves, well mine's stopped doing that! Is it something i've done with the alarm accidentally or is it controlled by the airbag computer, which i just recently removed?
Totally. If i want a normal drive i take the c-max, if i want an involving, exciting drive, i take the cup, that said i only drive the c-max when i have to with my family!
mine's still alive! You don't need abs, just get better brakes, and no more locking up. Next someone will say i need pas, a/c, airbags, interior etc lol
I havn't got 2500's but Mintex 1155's (similar brakes) They do also squeal a bit when coming to a slow stop. when it gets too much, i just take them for a good thrash to clean the pads up, then they are fine and quiet again
