I just replaced the breather pipe with a 1m long length of hose which now runs down the bulkhead and out under the car at the back of the subframe.
I replaced the inlet elbow with a silicone elbow without the breather inlet. This little lot cost me the princly sum of £21.54.
As above, looked like it was lowered on 15/16'' Super legs. Clio stickers in the side windows and a magnex oval.
It looked like a bit of a weapon.
Who's is it?
That's step 1 bud. Then fit a silicone bend/hose from the airbox to the inlet to smoot air flow. Then replace/de-restrict the standard air feed into the airbox. The standard feed is how the air gets into the airbox before the filter. These are normally re-stricted for noise purposes. A well...
It should do mate as it's a proper Cat with both Lambdas plugged in. If not, I won't enjoy re-fitting the standard one.
I'll try get some better vids tomorrow.
Thanks for that guys. They're more expensive than I thought but I do like that Alpine. Which stalk adaptor would I need and what facilities would it give me?
Biiiggg difference mate. An absolute b*****d to fit but well worth it. I'd say the difference was as noticeable if not more than my re-map and that gave me 8 bhp and between 12+14 lb/ft.
The noise only changed slightly to an even deeper burble on idle and throatier roar.
Have a listen here...
I've never heard the sound of my car so my bro' and his mate filmed it tonight. Only short but you get the idea.

Both the same vid on different phones.
I'm looking for a good value DVD audio headunit for my 172. I'm not bothered about a screen, just the DVD playback capability for MP3's.
I have certain criteria I would like it to meet:
Good value, around £200 but can be flexible
Must look good and fit relatively flush
Be compatible with stalk...
Since I fitted my Janspeed de-cat last week, I have had a metal on metal type noise coming from the CV's/Driveshafts everytime I have really accelerated hard.
Two weeks before, I noticed I had popped a CV off of the near side when fitting my Apex's but I re-greased and re-fitted this and there...
They were easy. The only real problem I had was getting the bolts back through the lower strut itself on the near side as I couldn't lower the wishbone enough to line the holes up. After popping the CV off, grazing my knuckles and sweraing loads, I jumped on the disk and my brother got a screw...
The reason it is so difficult is because the manifold studs do not have captive nuts on the manifold, they are normal nuts so it is a 2 man job. 1 Person needs to hang over the engine and twist their wrist to hold a spanner onto the bolts which only have limited head showing anyway...
I've just fitted a Janspeed sports cat. It made a hell of a difference though it was a b*****d to fit. It was only £62 delivered on Ebay but they are normally about £270. If you don't mind ripping your knuckles off once a year come MOT time, a custom decat is the way but I never want to have...
Diesel batteries are normally much larger but if it will fit, any battery can be used and should go some way to solving your problem.
Go to your local motor factors and whip your tape measure out.
I'm not saying it's a good thing that people don't answer emails but i'm sure they don't do it out of choice. In the short space of time that I chatted with John it became apparent that he was working extremely hard and making alot of sacrifices trying to get things off of the ground, trying to...
Ecotec Cavaliers suffer a problem where a manifold stud shears causing a leak on cylinder no.4 IIRC. This causes a really bad tapping noise, much the same as what you're experiencing from what I gather.
