My CV popped off last week. I diagnosed it through the grease that was coating the inside of the wheel and the spokes. The boot hadn't split, just popped off.
To check, jack the car up, whip the wheel off and slowly turn the driveshaft looking for any cracks or leaks. If you can't see any, it...
I finally got my de-cat/sports cat through today, which looks like it might fit. ;)
First question: Is it a de-cat or a sports cat as it looks more like a cat to me, Janspeed I think.
Second question: Which is the 1st lambda and which is the 2nd as I need to know which to block.
Third and final...
I don't think that is strictly true. Having bolted in my OMP last week, even with ruined tyres, the turn in is sharper and more direct as the flex in the shell is reduced allowing the tyres to place more surface area onto the tarmac. And suprisingly the ride feels slightly more compliant.
Woohoo, got one. Me thinks it's a bargain as well:

Nah mate, should just bolt in. You may have an issue with length though as I believe the Janspeed was designed for the phase 2 which had a slightly longer cat and 2 lambda probe holes. The second hole can just be blocked.
Not to worry James, these things happen. I really don't know what could have happened here. Why would Prospeed need to cut a perfectly good decat up? Unless it was originally a straight through pipe with no silencer and Prospeed just whipped one end off and spliced a sports cat in its place...
Where can I get a (real ;) ) de-cat made for my phase 2 172 in Yorkshire. Ideally Leeds would be best.
Based on this vid, would you get silenced or not? http://cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=107843
What sort of price would I be paying?
Is this...
To me it looks as if prospeed have removed the entire cat and replaced it with this which was attached via the flange to the centre pipe. I think James has been done to be honest as this looks in no way like any part of the de-cat.
I've just spoken to James and this is how Prospeed gave it back to him. This was bolted to the end of the centre pipe so you should be ok.
To me it looks like Prospeed have whipped the old de-cat off, bolted this to the centre pipe and sent James on his way as there is no bend in this section...
It can be a bit annoying on the motorway when ata bout 80. Simple answer is to drive faster LOL.
It sounds superb though when you open it up. I've never heard it driven but it's meant to sound superb.
So was yours £7500 or £8750?
It must just be mounts or something of that nature it. It's just a fooker trying to diagnose it.
I had a Chavalier SRI before the Clio. My Uni motor. Not a bad car though. Cost me peanuts.
We'll give them a bit of a back to back if you like Chris when you've sorted it.
The car is a 51 reg and I bought it about 2 months ago with 31k on the clock. It cost £6500 and the total cost of everything to date is £7750 which I am pretty chuffed with as this includes everything right down to...
Sorry for the poor quality. I wanted to get a clip up as I have just been told my de-cat is on the way. I'll try get another clip of the car being driven then i'll update once I have fitted the de-cat.

Realplayer or Quicktime as I cannot...
I've got mine mapped mate, pmurray did it, his 1st Clio IIRC. Got a full stainless with a PiperX panel, uprated feed, acoustic valve removed and a silicone elbow fitted with the breather pipe vented.
It's currently @ 178 but I'm hoping the de-cat will take that nearer 185. I hope LOL.
The...
