My phase 2 172 doesn't have ESP or TC. I am assuming these pieces of electronic trickery are part of the ECU. Would it be possible to retro-fit them?
Would I actually want to/need to?
The hardest part of fitting springs Freds way is refitting the nearside strut. As the driveshaft is shorter on the nearside, it is very difficult to relocate the lower strut bolts as you can't get the wishbone low enough. I ended up popping my CV boot off.
I wish my 172 had a 34 bhp Superchip!

You car looks quality Dave. The colour is superb. I'm particularly liking that spoiler ;) .
I still haven't got round to fitting it. What did you replace it with?
I have a set which is 1gb in size but have been trying to find a way of resizing it to fit on a CD. I have Cool Edit Pro 2 but can't find how to re-encode the file with a lower bitrate.
Any ideas?
I don't want to hijack other threads but leading on from another post along the same lines, how do I keep my FSH if I use Renault parts. For example, I buy the required parts from GSF then have a Renault speciaist fit them. Would I keep the receipts attached to the fitment invoice as proof of...
Get a FF 172 then add the Turinis which transform the handling due to the extra offset and lower weight. In reality, when are you going to need the extra 0.2 sec turn of speed?
I'm back on another full tank of Optimax this week after my Sunday fill up. I used to use Saisnburys 97 or BP Ultimate which was OK, nothing startling, then I tried a tank of Optimax 2 weeks ago which amazed me. So much smoother when pootling along and so much more kick with a pronounced jump...
I know there is an undying love for PC's on here but following on from a thread the other day about silver Clios not showing scratches etc, will a rotary polisher do any good/bad to my paint or should I polish it by hand?

I'm new to this hardcore detailing so don't know what's what.
As above. I have the opportunity to get hold of a 182 manifold and cat but am not sure what is involved in fitting. Will my exhaust need fettling as well?
I did the same mate today. Jacked each side to take the Turinis ready for new tyres. Lceaned inside both sets of wheels (Turinis and std) and also cleaned and jet washed inside the arches. It looks so much better now. I even cleaned my springs with a rag.
I've just weighed my std wheels and my Turinis. 19kg std vs 16.5kg for Turinis. So fitting Turinis will also reduce the unsprung weight of a full fat by 10kg.
The removal of my ISOFix bar and acoustic valve paraphernalia plus fitment of Turinis has taken my FF's weight down to 1095kg, a saving...
Both as far as I am aware. I bought my yellow one from there years ago which I gave to my girlfriend last year. I replaced that with a silver one 6 months ago so they do silver for sure.
Can Im remove the ISOFix bar without risk of the seats moving etc? I know you have to remove the bar to remove the seat back but I just wanted to remove the bar to save weight while retaining the rear seats.
The air is angled ever so slightly upwards by the vent and the air is also cool down there as well. As many will debate, the ram effect is not present until something like 150+, so for ease I would say this is the best option. I can talk you through it roughly if you like.
The tyres on my Turinis are ever so slightly bald so I decided to swap back to my standard 172 wheels until I have my new tyres fitted this week.
The first thing I noticed after driving was that the steering is nowhere near as direct. I could drive in a straight line with the Turinis fitted and...
Do what I've done bud, remove the acoustic valve as it's a waste of space then run the feed right to the base of the wheel arch liner where, conveniently, there sits a vent which angles air right into the feed. Voila.

That should be fine mate. Just ensure the leg length is long enough to reach the airbox. Don't worry about the breather, just vent it with a length of pipe under the car or put a breather filter on as you say.
Cheers for the input guys. The finish on the spoiler is quite good, it has a few runs at one end and a tiny section had broken away but other than that it is mint.
So I should just prep the laquer, prime in grey the add the colour and the laquer?
What is the part number of iceberg from...
