Thanks for the reply Pat. It's running fine again now after muchos blue roll and WD40 but the ECU light is still on. I just need to know how to get it to go out.
Why not suck it and see?
How about a 182 remap xmas raffle. All those owners out there who are interested, chip in to the pot then pull a name out of the bag. Whoever wins gets a cheap as chips remap and proves the claims. ;)
Stupid idea but these maps need more support. I don't profess to...
Looks like some boggo model as well. Colour and black door handles sort of give it away.
Probably some 17 year old tool with a top to bottom 'Motorsport' sunstrip and a horizontal dustbin exhaust trim expecting his Clio to coner flatter than a Zonda F.
Me neither. Though I haven't seen you in ages either Jamie. I don't think the 'Forth could survive seeing 2 stunning Clios in the same place at the same time LOL.
I thought about uprating the shocks as well but then the price isn't too far shy off budget coilies. Maybe in the summer.
For now I can't fault the Apex. Until I start paying for replacement dampers LOL.
Whip it out Oms. It supposedly cuts out induction noise and somehow maximises torque between about 2.5 and 4.5k. I can't quite see how it would be beneficial being closed at all other speeds.
Furry muff. I asked wether you had experience of both on the thread I put up a couple of weeks ago but you never replied.
Do you find the ride is less crashy on the Eibachs and is the handling improved even more so?
After a little too much water found it's way around the engine bay (http://cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=106952), I have managed to get my car running again and keep it out of limp mode but now the ECU light is on.
What do I need to do to extinguish it?
Will it go out after a I have...
You do hate Apex don't you Evo? ;)
I have no doubt in my mind that Eibach are excellent but in terms of VFM, I don't think you can beat the Apex.
Apex are £95 delivered from John2modified whereas the Eibachs are about £150, that's 50% of the price again.
My 172 had an exhaust and a PiperX panel with silicone elbow but that only made +5 bhp, still a cracking gain but sort of disproves the 'suits an exhaust and IK' theory. Though I did gain about 14 lb/ft at 2.5k and I ran 173.5 standard.
I replaced my springs with the Apex -40's and the handling is transformed, no body roll and much more direct even with shite front tyres and greasy roads. The ride does obvoiusly suffer but not massively, until you get to a big pot hole then you have to pay for ceramic caps on your teeth. You...
It won't really spit oil to be honest, more like venting the oily gasses. I have just run a metre of hose under the car so it exits behind the back subframe mount onto the road. And as Ben said, a little more performance (theoretically) as there is more room in the inlet for o2.
You can just use a 70mm bore 90 degree bend. The airbox end is 70mm and the throttle body is 73mm but a 70mm hose will just fit.
£19.04 delivered from Team Think without the breather inlet.
I've left the car overnight and just tried it again now. It is idling a tabout 2k no matter what then after about 15 seconds of driving the coil/immobiliser light comes on and it's back in limp mode.
What shall I look at next?
I've just checked the manual and this light is apparently the immobiliser. It must be something to do with the moisture as the ECU light is staying on then the immobiliser light comes.
Shall I just leave it overnight.
It's been posted before I think, '1 off factory design' my arse. But buy it now for £3200, that is cheap. It must be a Cat D minimum.
And what are the wheels, they look like 15'' Dynamiques.

Will the dash reset tell me what is wrong with it?
I won't need to drive it until tomorrow evening so I'm going to leave it alone.
I have added a pic of the lights below (not my car). Is the light on the left the coil pack light?
I can't see it doing too much damage, it's just inconvenient.
I've just tried the car again now and it just revs up and down with the light still on. Fook
Just washed my car this afternoon and cleaned under the bonnet as well. Not loads of water but enough to rinse all the soap off.
Went to drive the car earlier, it started fine as usual but a light in the centre of the dash lit up (a square with a squiggly line running through it) as did the...
I had my Nova SRI stolen years ago. This was lowered on standard 14'' anthracite wheels so was on it ass. Had an Astra GSI vent smoothed into the back of the bonnet facing forward (like a scooby vent but offset), flushed tailgate, Manta 400 mirrors, decat stainless and IK. None of this was...
I can vouch for this as mine was the first 172. I ran 173.5 standard then 177.5 with the re-map but gained between 10 and 12 lb/ft of torque. Much more noticeable than an extra 5 bhp as the torque is gained from 2.5k upwards. Strange how my 172 ran 173.5 standard compared to 172.1 for a 182...
