Had Spax springs on my 172 MK2 and they were superb. Cant speak for the others as I havent tried them. Lots of people like Eibach springs on here too...

Okay, fair comments. The two cars that I have found have both been on Autotrader and are both "overpriced" compared to Parkers.
Any other comments on this anyone? Off to see this car in 2 hours so need as much info as possible!

Damn right Paddy. Wouldnt touch the 206 180 for fear that it might be something like the 140bhp version. Its just too "soft" to be a true GTi...
Am looking forward to going back to the Clio. They might rattle more, but theyre much more fun to drive!

After getting into financial trouble and stupidly swapping my 172 for an older 206 GTi, Ive spotted a Williams 3 for approx. £6k. Not sure of the milage but it is a 1996 N-reg model and Im going to go and have a test drive tomorrow. Can someone tell me what the main things I need to look out for...

Ive kept up with a 5 door & a 3 door ST170 who were both apparently going flat out......and this was in my 206 GTi which I know for a fact is alot slower than a 172. Go test drive a CTR though; itd be silly not to. Im going to try one myself next Saturday.

Thought the Saxo could do 60 in about 7.1 and the 206 in 7.6 or something. Thats the difference between your Williams and my 172, and I always seem to convincingly lose!
