    Exhaust Pipes

They're still shiny, but there's a definate set of marks which look like they're going to take some shifting. I may try some 2000-grit with lots of water as I can slip that through without too much fuss, but I suspect I'll still have to mop it afterwards - I've only got away with that once!

    LCD techie help

20ms is poor really for what's out there, but I think these things can get pretty anal and it suits me fine - I play FSX all day long through DVI, XBox360 through the VGA and I watch my TV courtesy of Sky and the S-Video port. I've not noticed any difference. And how many FPS is TV/Xbox/PC...

    Exhaust Pipes

Yeah, and it seems that someone's polished my exhausts with sandpaper - any tips on getting that back without having to strip the bumper off and get a wheel on it, as I can't be fussed with that!

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

Manufacturer facts and figures mean nothing on a public road though? We're in the real world and you'll never hit the book time for 0-60, you'll never get the top speed and you'll not notice in a 2litre car, an extra person. Take Ford's last Focus ST - the 170. It's a fairly quick car, and was...

    182 or 197??

Personally - 182. The 197's engine doesn't feel as good to drive, it's nowhere near as nippy and the interior doesn't feel as nice a place to be as the 182 FF. IMO (which seems to be something the world hates at the moment!) the jewel in the new Clio's crown is the 138 like my old dear's just...

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

I know, I know - not ALL and I appreciate you and various others on here aren't... But as you acknowledged there's an abundance of them - yes it makes for amusing but also frustrating when people who are supposedly 'above' them start sitting on the fence.

    LCD techie help

My Dell 20" widescreen isn't much better if at all, yet still I can race around on PGR3 with no ghosting and I watch my Sky through it, and there's no issues there either...

    Greenlight (interesting)

In the nicest way possible to all the people that work for these places, they are all a bunch of robbing scrotes, they're just above the law. They write terms and conditions knowing you won't read 90% of them and catch you out for every last penny they can take off you. What you gain in a...

MK4 GOLF GTI TURBO Vs CLIO 172 FF

Possibly, but I've got bigger tatties and the R32 is his missus's - I'd bottle it a LOT later. :approve:

    Greenlight (interesting)

Mine keep trying! Next time I'm not going to threaten to leave though, I'll just do it. You'll have to forgive me as I'm not racist but I'm sick of calling Sanjay in India to try and sort anything with my bank out - because my branch open and half ten and close at half three - I struggle...

    Meguiars 3 stage by PC

3-stage is a hand-applied product. Search through the masses of this section, there's got to be at least 5 threads I can think of off the top of my head which mentioned various swirl removal and masking techniques!

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

You've never even held a conversation with me, so to insinuate that I'm a c**t is just proving yourself to be one. It just proves you all to be the teenage, spotty pricks I originally feared the members of this forum are. In fact, I was even warned, but thought I'd managed to find someone...

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

I have friends where I live, where I work and where I socialise. If I find someone on here with the same odd sense of humour and similar interests then bonus, but I meet 'mates' every day and in the nicest way possible, I'll never meet a 'Friend' off the net. As for sod Trisha, no!!! I like...

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

Look up, above the post you just edited, where it says quite plainly I was joking. You seem to be struggling with reading plain english tonight - it might be worth going to sleep and having a fresh read in the morning to see where you've missed key points in posts. ;)

The one that was last when I originally clicked reply! b*****d server. The one where he decides he's going to tell the world how wonderful his job is and how he bought the seats outright, and decides to call me a gimp. Clever, really. Nothing against you mate. Not yet anyway! :D

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

To be fair, I thought I'd actually found someone with a sense of humour - but after that last comment I think it's fair to say you've all met every expectation of the people I see on these forums and summed up why I come on here : to take the piss out of people who are easy to wind up and have a...

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

Have to say I haven't, but I can't weld so can hardly talk! Last time I tried to weld aluminium it fell apart while I was stood on it. That was a few years ago now! But I've repaired quite successfully and restored a Triumph Stag, which, being British and 1970s car, it was built when the...

s**t insurance company wont insure on exhaust.

Re: s**t insurance company wont insure on exhaust. No it means they'll stitch you for all the costs and take your license off you, and stick you for a higher premium next time (which IIRC, driving without insurance comes with a higher cost than drink driving).
  25. Mike_182

Why would you buy a cup over a full fat 172?

Rolls eyes. You guys are so simple. A 'multi-skilled engineer' that can bicker and weld badly at the same time and someone who thinks getting a loan for a set of recaros after buying a cheap car makes him rich. Marvellous! Chill out will you both. You took the old cheap bait way too...
