I wouldnt have thought it would be too difficult to source a 172 engine - there are so many Cups being written off at the moment. Would it fit? Who knows, I guess the work involved would be non-trivial to say the least.
I think pmitchell had a scrap Cup a couple of weeks ago.
Never come across these, but Id want a lot more info than that if I was going to buy one. Improvements of 20%? I rather doubt it (on a 172 anyway). 20% would give you about 206bhp!
My tyre wear has been totally predictable so far. I get 6k per set of fronts, and about 15k from the rears. Thats with a goodly number of track days, and 1/4 mile days a couple of times a year. I dont rag the car unless its really safe. Ive stuck with the Contis so far as I like them.
Goodyear...
The 0-100 time is a direct result of the sequential gearbox. Its absolutely amazing. Full-throttle changes, 6-speed close ratio. The lack of weight helps too.
I guess we always get in a tizz over this. On the track / 1/4 mile our times are pretty comparable, so I doubt theres much difference in reality. These rolling roads really do seem to vary a lot!
Poltergeist?
No seriously, Id let them change the switch, then take it back again when that doesnt do any good. Things like this can be murder to track down - really hard to do yourself unless youre a whizz wiuth a multimeter and you have the wiring diagram for the car.
Slightly OT (but there might be a soft-top Clio someday!) The soft-top on our Megane is beginning to show its age - some areas are not really black anymore where it folds, and the rear screen isnt as see-through as it once was. Ive heard there is a kit that contains all the goodies you need to...
Those who have owned motorbikes, particularly 2-strokes, will know about something called a powerband. As the engine picks up you get a rush of power somewhere between halfway and maximum revs. Its just something that petrol engines do. Nothing to do with VVT (2-strokes dont have valves lol).

Its not just Wolfrace. I ordered Team Dynamics from my local Halfords last month. I paid in full and was promised a delivery date. They didnt come. Two more delivery dates were promised, including Ive just spoken to Rimstock and theyre on the van. They still didnt come. I got a refund. No-one at...
You can hit the reset button any time and get a current reading.
But dont do it while youre twirling the steering wheel going round an island or youll crash.
I wouldnt think theres that much difference in price really. There have been a few real bargain Mk1s for between 8 and 9,000, but most cost more (have a look in the for-sale section). If you want newest 172 for the money a Cup may be a better bet - Ive seen 03 models for 9k.
