Great read, i wish more people would go into detail like this. Reviews like this are much more interesting than reading in a magazine.
I know what your saying about the breaks, I have read some jornalists describing it on super car levels of stopping power! wow.
Great car, great review...
So Mike, could you not have diagnosed the problem before you did all that work? why did you only find what the true cause was after the work had been done?
Sounds like it all got rushed abit, feel sorry for you guys! sounds like a right mess.
TBH id dont think you have a hope in hell...
As I said before gonna take the advice and save the cash and just get some eibach springs for a small drop, just to make the car look right.
Might go for H&R's if I see a cheap second hand pair.
:-p
Took my clio in to Reno and some spanner monkey had pressed the bonnet close and in doing so dinted/creased the bonnet! I just could not be bothered complaining, imadgine how long it would take for them to order and fit a new racing blue bonnet with racing stripes! Pppfff forget about it already..
Ok thanks for all the sound advice, i've decided to save the cash and get some eibach prolines as i do intend to track my car so the extra stiffness will help, plus it will lower it a little.
cheers!
hhumm, i understand what your saying. There is no point spending £500 on something i will regret. I will always wonder what the H&R's cud have been like lol.
Where is the best place to buy H&R's from?
Are there any other brands you can recomend that are more comfortable?
Im on a budget of £500. I heard FK's are good???
Must be adjustable for track and road use... thx
Wow the stiffest? not to keen on that.:S Can you not soften the shockers?
Have your bedded in? and also how far have you decked it?
Id only be looking for a 25mm drop for road use and 60mm drop for track.:approve:
Hello,
Im looking at fitting these coil overs to my ph1 172: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250164261394&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=015
What do you guys think to this setup and can anyone recomend them?
They are fully adjustable, aprat from camber I think.
thanks
As above, im buying some second hand GAZ coil overs from a 172 FF owner.
Will they fit ok on my ph1 172?
Please dont just guess, only post a reply if you know this for certain as i dont fancy spendin £400 to find they dont fit!
Thanks in advance:)
Think my money would be on the clio, but depends on the skill of the driver.
I mean what are the BHP per tonne figures looking like? the clio must be close to 260/270 bhp per tonne and im guessing the M3 must be less??
R26 anyday! no contest... Come on its 2.0 turbo and has nice interior more toys, looks better, sounds better and goes better.
The ride quality is on another level, so much better but can also be a beast if you want it to. Its certainly not as nimble. I think the meggy is just abit more gown...
I think your wrong there? I heard you dont need spring compressers? as the springs are not under compression?
when you say tranferr the top bits, which 'bits' are hose?
Thanks
