I think it was a common problem with the earlier cars, as in the 172's and 182's. My 172 squeals quite a lot for the first few minutes of driving sometimes. Unfortunately I am not sure if its a common problem but you must still have warranty so I would pop back to Renault and get it checked...
Cool, in my head its going to work perfectly, but in reality it may take a bit of doing. Originally I was thinking of suggesting having small paddles instead of the buttons, but thought it may lead to some unplanned rev limiter action!!
As for fitting the buttons I cant see it being too...
I have had a bit of an idea, see what you think.
What about fitting the buttons on the back of the wheel, facing away from the driver. That way they will be hidden and won't ruin the look of the wheel, but it will be easy to use still. Will take a bit of work but could be really good once...
Also you need to pull the holder/carrier away from the car, its spring loaded. Wind piston back in, pull holder/carrier away from the car then slot the outer pad 1st (I think its the easiest way round to do it) then the inner one should fit pretty easily.
No they don't there is a bolt.
Just did mine today, ended up having to cut the bolt with a hack saw, its very easy to round off the torx, I only got mine about 10 turns then it was fucked. Take your time with it. Lots of WD40. Screw it out a bit spray WD, then screw back in then out a bit...
I don't mind to much as long as if they make a mess they clean it up as they get out, hate when people leave rubbish like empty food containers (crisp packets etc...), its just rude.
As for my driving, I don't think its fair to make someone in the passenger seat scared or not enjoy the journey...
Ha ha, my breaker bar/penis is bigger than yours!!!
We used to use very long poles when taking bolts off the loading shovels at work, but the plus side with them was the bolts were very hard steel so there was never an issue with rounding them off! All I would say is b careful, there is a lot...
Can you not just drill the bolt out? Even if you just kinda hollow it out then it will be easy to shear it off and then hammer what's left out! Also rather than using a jack, get a long bar, personally I think its a lot safer!
I am loving this build, just wish you would hurry up a bit. I'm...
I'm pretty sure you have a few options. If he is taken to court and convicted he will prob be made to pay it as part of the sentence. He will then no doubt plead poverty, in which case he will pay it back very slowly, so you could then take him to small claims, but prob no point.
I would...
Yeah, I was a bit gutted that they didn't have the NGK ones in as I have heard they are best, but I couldn't wait as the car is need first thing tomorrow morning. Think I will run them till next service, which isn't too long. Is the a noticeable difference between the two?
This thread seems pretty useful, page 4 is pretty good. Also page 2 (i think) explains that you need to mod a drive shaft to fit the gripper, but it is all explained in the thread I think. Hope this has helped...
I read in a thread on hear that the grippers will still work if you lift an inside wheel, where as the quaife wont, but the quaife is maintenance free. The gripper needs servicing every x miles. From the way that thread went people seemed to say the gripper was better for more serious usage...
Car started making the s**t noise again today, so had give the spark plug another twist. As I did it I felt it start spinning differently, few more twists and the plug came out. A small part of the thread was fucked but not much, but the plus side was the plug is out. Walked to halfrads as it...
Quality, bet you have a great time! Hope it all goes to plan.
The car looks wicked, but why no front grill and why relocate the number plate? Is it for extra air flow to the rad?

I now need to remove the spark plug to get it helicoiled and then new plugs fitted. Problem is the spark plug just spins where it is.
Does anyone know how I can get it out without...
SORTED, all thanks to Birchdown!
Turns out some fool had cross threaded a spark plug, and air was leaking past it, sounded like tapping, but was actually air. It's technically not fixed but is working as it should again and will be fine until I can afford for an engineering company to somehow...
Haha, that was pretty funny, we went a different way at some lights apparently?
I just refuse to overtake in a silly place, so it can be hard to catch up with the pack once they are ahead!
This is only the second time I have driven anywhere with a meet and I was pretty happy with the pace...
Okay, got a quick video. Taken with my phone and it seems to make it sound a bit diffrent than in person. There is a wining noise, but I can't hear that in person and the tapping noise seems a lot quieter in the video than it does in person ...
