911 it is then - I know youre pretty handy with the Snap-Ons so you may do alright if you can find a good one. I only had mine for a few months (couldnt really drive well enough to enjoy it) and it was always in the workshop.
If the weather is dry I get a lot of these - not just from the car either. The garage door seems to charge me up then I get a shock when I turn a light on in the house.
If you buy a 911 it will be a sh*tter - believe me I had one. 944 would be a better bet but the NA cars are not that quick and the turbos are costly to get right. If its for trackdays why not look at a Caterham or Westfield?

Hi Soapsuds - 1.6 16v is a pretty good machine, if you like it here have a look at http://www.cliosport.net/club.asphttp://www.cliosport.net/club.asp and come and join us at one of the Midlands meets!
Handling is much improved, firmer, but somehow more comfortable as it doesnt bounce as much on rough surfaces. The Eibachs dont lower the car an awful lot (about 30mm) - just think of them as better quality springs. I dont get any complaints from passengers!
From what I remember of driving a 205 GTI it would probably end up in a ditch long before you could work out which was faster.
"Oh-my God-Im-going-to-die-any-minute-now" is my abiding memory of the 205GTI.
Under the flap you will find a piece of paper, the words written on it read....
"Aha you stupid Engleesh. We ave fooled you into paying 20,000 Euros for this piece of sh#t that we knocked together one Friday afternoon whilst we were planning our next strike."
