I wouldn't hit it with a hammer! I can't understand why some have dents and some don't? But is it possible that your engine mounts are a bit worn and if you were to replace them it might solve the problem? Have you tried tilting the engine forward abit like "Andyman" said?

I disagree with the 1.2 stuggling to tow another car, it wouldn't be fast but then you can't tow at high speed, I personally would be more worried about stopping with that weight on. A 1.2 would be fine pulling a trailer, but I would imagine (as said above) it will be the weights that f**ks...

Surely that only applies if you can't prove he pulled out in front of you? If there is a witness or cctv etc... then the person pulling out will be in the wrong!

Keep the 182, get something cheap and good mpg to go to work in. Then you can reduce the insurance a bit on the 182 (limited milage) then spend the savings on modding the 182. I will be in a similar situation in september time. Going to buy a cheap second car to drive to work then turn the cup...
