I know not about Vista but the rest we agree on.
Time will tell, but im sure 360 will require more development in the future to work as a HD DVD player. Feel free to remind if im wrong lol
HDCP is still in development, it will be used and the 360 cannot support it at present.
These are facts you seem to not acknowledge as such.
They will not allow piracy to increase initail sales lmfao.
This is not at all a BluRay Vs HD-DVD issue, both will use it.
I am sure MS will get...
MS are big but they dont control the world.
Upto you what you think, but EVERY media producer will be doing what they can to prevent piracy and thus use HDCP
DVi indeed but not relevant if you wish to hear your telly!
Its not a standard of HD media, BluRay or HDDVD, its the secure transmission to protect film makers from piracy and it will be forced into use.
Find a statement from Microsoft that confirms the 360 will be able to comply......
Did you also believe DVDs wouldn't get copy protection?
Some developers are already signed up to this standard, try a new Samsung HD player for example.
Recent firmware upgrades have also occured on HD TVs that comply with the standard, see AVforums, the Philips 9830 is a good example of...
How can you watch encrypted content on the 360 if it has no HDMI connection?
Also surley the digital>analogue>digital conversion does no favours for the picture on stuff you can watch!
Gearchange will easily give that sort of difference, you need to be quite brutal in a drag.
I also disagree with the optimum change up point, check the torque curve vs rpm drop between gears and its clearly better to use all the RPM you have.
oh i thought the dynamique bit meant you had a...
^ Main advantage is the LCD wont suffer retention (wrongly called burn). This IS an issue on plasma's and although they are better, logos that are always show on games/music channels etc can stay present for a while.
Plasma's do have the advantage of much better 'blacks' so dark games will...
One of our UPS's with a calibrated reading taken from the same point, extreme example but they are not to be trusted.
Dont want to teach you to suck eggs but just incase you dont realise, its best to make sure the UPS output voltage is set suitably, if its set at 230v when your supply is never...
What UPS do you have? Are you going by the screen reading or taking a measurment with a calibrated meter?
Prior to 1995 the nominal mains voltage was 240v +/- 6%. So in theory the supply companies could provide anything between 226v and 254v (ignoring the decimals for clarity). Europe was...
Nice one Alex, quite surprised as thats where they should excel. I think the Skyline was a GTS so rwd 2.5 turbo and the Supra was a 3ltr twin turbo wasn't it?
Was great that it was a mixed turn up tho, love going against the Jap machinery.
Evo boys will be very interesting, how they gonna react when a Clio hands them there ass lol
HD-DVD is gonna be nearly as good so the less well off people can still enjoy quality close to Blu-ray.
Its just like everything else, eg only wealthy people generally get to drink great wine, but you can still get a drinkable bottle from the supermarkets.
Are you saying im wrong and then saying im right :S
I didnt say Plasma was better except in the context of the Pioneer,
I know what LCDs do, im viewing this at 1920x1080 ;)
If its a plasma screen Pioneers are far and away the best although its the XDE one you want iirc.
If an LCD wasnt better suited for my uses id have one of those no doubt, it is better quality than any LCD.
What are these problems??? Used AV forums for about a month before i actually bought my philips. It seemed to be the favorite LCD with constant VS threads with the Pioneer plasma (which is stunning).
Mine has been totally reliable and looks great, set-up by AVforums boffs :)
imo 4pots would be an advantage even for hard road use let alone track but cost wise its hard to justify when the standard kit is pretty good.
As a matter of interest what are the weights of a FF182, the Yozzasport car and the cup racers?
