Haha calm down dear, it's just a commercial. I know what people are saying about the house vs car situation. I will just save as much as poss over the next 18 months and see what I want to do then. I might want to move out rather than getting a mad car.
Shut up you loser. Why would I still be at home when I'm 30 if I get a car when I'm 21? Plus I don't plan on being single when I'm 30 either!
I think the word you were looking for was opportunity, not opertunity. Women love men that can spell as well.
I can't say I'll be bothered about much else apart from comfort. And it can't be less comfortable than my 172 on the motorway. I will be happy knowing my car has 300bhp under the bonnet. I'm sure I won't keep it for longer than 2 years anyway, then I will get something sensible and cheaper.
Thankyou, there is light at the end of the tunnel then? Yeah like I said, I'm loving my 172, but I already know I will be bored of it by next summer and want a nice turbo :approve: I know it will get negative attention, but the area which I live is nice, and if I see any chavs hangin round it I...
Had a little race with a racing blue 182 the other day, it looked very nice up close. Although it looked like the had attempted to fit an after market exhaust themselves and did a really bad job of it!
They should have done a flame red 182 ;) I would have liquid yellow, but they are rare. U can't go wrong with black, but not everyone is as good at cleaning cars as Rich
Very sexy. I like monaco blue. One thing that will make it look 10 times better at the front imo is a carbon splitter. Makes a lot of difference for something small
Nice to see some support guys haha. It's not an impossible goal to be honest. I will be on a decent wage for ages as well ;)
One of my mates, who turns 21 this november is getting a 2002 M3. Which has similar running costs etc. I'll see how he gets on for the first year of running it!!
I will do cheers mate. Theres no harm in saving up for one anyway, if I don't get one I could also just get throttle bodies and coilies ;)
I will obviously need to check insurance quotes and my montly wage nearer the time before making a definite decision, as things change all the time, and...
I know the running costs will be a b*tch. 20mpg if I drove it slowly and mad insurance n tax. I think I would cope with that though :) keep the impreza til I have kids. Infact, its a good size for a sprog in the back too :)
I know 172s are well fun. I always look forward to driving mine, and giving it some down country lanes, and I also love popping it into 3rd gear as I'm on motorway slip roads and going straight into the outside lane at 110mph :) haha. Would love to do that in a chipped P1 too
As for saving for...
I've thought about gettin a turbo for my clio, but if you buy a car thats already got a turbo, the gear box, clutch etc is already made to take more torque etc. I couldn't justify spending 6k on a conversion when I could use the same money to get a 280 bhp impreza :)
I'm about to start saving my ass off to go from my recently purchased ph2 172 to an impreza P1. I figured seeing as I'm 19 and only just got my 172, I will save as much as poss until I'm 21 and get a beasty P1. I was going to save for throttle bodies, but though naaah!
What do people think...
My wheels are making this really annoying high pitched, on and off screeching noise, but it seems to go away when I apply the brake. The only way I can explain it over a forum is:
screech-screech-screech-screech
like someone jumping up and down on a bed or something.
Could any tell me...
You can't beat a good sized engine in something that weighs less than a tooth pick.
The lupo's are smart little cars, just too girlie for me.
VW build quality is always going to be better than peugeot
If its an open filter, e.g. a crappy halfords one that cost 50quid then it will only make a noise, and probably lose bhp due to drawing in hot air from the engine bay. But if its enclosed in a carbon casing for example (like the viper, bmc cda etc) and has a CAF routed to a low down grill, then...
iirc Cooper S' are about 140kg heavier than a 182, which is the equivalent of having 2 extra people in your car. I think with you would prob need to chuck 1500 at it to make 210bhp, but it would be worth it.
The most annoying thing I find with my 172 is that is red lines too early in 2nd...
182 is a good choice for the money. A couple of mods will obviously make it even better. Which integra you looking for. DC5 is about the same price as a cooper s!
Is it that section of piping that runs just behind the big fan? I swear loads when I'm trying to sort my car out. Ended up attacking the old air box with a chisel and a hammer to take it out.
I knew being 5'11" would come in handy one day :)
Still feels like I'm sat on a booster seat in my 172 though. It's weird when I drive my missus' 1 series, it's the complete opposite.
