I was thinking of getting a performance element. Is there really any point? Only other significant mod is a Magnex cat back system. I dont expect to feel a benefit from any one particular mod, but its nice to think youre at least going in the right direction and that they might all add up to...
Theres bound to be the odd shunt - but I reckon its a damn sight safer than ragging it on the public highway - see the crash gallery for evidence! As long as you listen to the advice about not staying out for too many laps at a time and cooling the brakes I reckon its perfectly safe. That bloke...

4 months and 7000 miles (and 1 trackday) yes Id get another: Totally reliable, lots of mods available, cheap to run and TOTALLY BRILLIANT ON A TRACK!
Wots all that about a Clio Renaultsport 200 anyway J?
I got a Magnex twin round outlet (cat-back system) last week. They are loud at certain speeds - mines a bit of a pain around 75-80 but then calms down as you get faster. Around town is no problem at all. Best to get a cat back rather than just the back box - at least then the whole thing is...
Well worth looking at Bedford. Most of their days include a lot of use of their cars which is expensive in terms of hardware and instructors. Theyve got to be competitive surely, and if not theres another outfit called RMA who do lots of track days at bedord. Heres their schedule:

Daipac honestly mate theres nothing to worry about and youll be hooked. At the Palmersport day the format was open pitlane which means you can go onto the track any time you like for as often as you like. In practice you wont spend the whole time on the track though: 1. Your tyres get too hot...

Oh, one more thing. Although the 172 track day at Palmersport was a hoot, it would be even better to have all the other Clios there too. Plus it gives a much greater chance of getting the numbers required. So maybe it should be a Cliosport track day!
In my experience too much democracy usually leads to these events getting no-where. Just do a quick straw poll then make a decision. Most people will like a track thats pretty central, and is wide with safe run-out areas. Ill go pretty much anywhere that fills the bill. Might be best to avoid...
